Found this ages ago just lying alongside the road in Illinois... I think it was Illinois... heh... structure looks similar to a calamites horsetail IMO, but the symmetrical succession of the parts is curious. Any ideas?

This is a Late Cretaceous limestone from Poland. It contains a greenish glauconitic blob, on which - in one place - ornamentation is visible in a form of ribs, apparently meeting distally in pairs to form a V shape. First thoughts: poorly preserved inoceramid or ammonoid, Rhizocorallium-type burrow... Or... is it something more interesting??? Ideas!

I got interested in this a few months ago when i found the teeth/jaw on the river Danube Im from Europe which as far as i know was in water back then ? Hope you can give me info on what are the bones/ribs/jaw from and approximately age

Hello there paleontologists, fossil enthusiast, and everything in between. If you couldn't tell this is the first content I've ever made on the fossil forum so please excuse errors and, or inexperience I apologize in advance. Here is my collection of display fossils as well as modern bones keep in mind this is purely what I have on display I keep the vast majority of fossils I posses in storage with lots of support such as bubble rap and various other materials to ensure complete security of precious peeks into our planet's history. If you have any questions or comments feel free to ask as you please. These are all authentic fossils 2 have been directly seen by a professional (Ursus sp. & Unidentified Dinosaur Cretaceous Rib) The Dactylioceras sp. is very clearly a real specimen however there was no authority on it's authenticity the two Hadrosaur fragments are authentic as well one purchased with it's card of authenticity by D.J Parsons and the other was purchased from the very same hunter whom discovered the Cretaceous rib section. (Note: individual specimen content will be released in time)

Hi this was found in lyme Regis near the ammonite pavement to the west of the cob. Any I'd help greatly appreciated.

I noticed that fossil dugong rib bones from Florida often have boring worm holes in them, though these are not predators per se, and have heard that shark marks can be found. Any other kinds of marks I should look out for? How common is it to find shark bite marks on the ribs?

.are they burrows or something else? Maybe coral? Found in Walnut Clay formation of Comanche Peak, Hood County, TX...about 1.5 inches long Found this in matrix and need help identifying.....found in Walnut Clay formation of Comanche Peak in Hood County....rings are approximately 3/8 of an inch long and are not connected. Lots of gastropods, urchins, and ammonites in the immediate area. At first I thought this was a gastropod, but the "ribs" are not connected at all. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi all, I've just acquired what is supposedly a Plesiosaur rib from the Late Triassic of the South Wales coast, dating to the Penarth Group. I am not aware of late Triassic Plesiosaur material from South Wales however. I know that any plesiosaur material (Jurassic and onwards) from that area is somewhat fragmentary, and it would be hard to pinpoint it to any species or genus. But I would still like to narrow down the possibilities. 1) Let's say it is not a plesiosaur rib, what large marine reptile rib could it be? 2) What plesiosaur genus existed in the late Triassic of South Wales? Thank you! EDIT: This rib is 135mm in length and 33mm in width (widest point)

I found this in the Niagara Gorge about 2 years a go around the power plant area.
