Good morning and thanks for the invite. I am going blind and just want to see and learn all I can while I can. I have found a few things while walking about here and there in between working outdoors and fishing on the rivers and lakes here in Texas. One piece in particular I found while exploring the property adjacent to where I was living in Cool, Tx (with the permission of the land owner of course) that resembles at a glance or in fact is a fossil. I suppose this could be verified through some sort of examination using equipment that could possibly x-ray or someone with a trained eye could say whether it is in fact a fossil or not. I sent pictures to one of the top universities in America and they said it was only a 'cool' rock It is about the size of your fist. I will post pics when I figure out how to. The two pieces I am sure are artifacts are a small mortar and a piece that resembles an animal. I will also attempt to post those pictures later on. Other than that I have quite a few small fossils found mostly in Tarrant county along with a ton of chert, jasper, agates, feldspar, quartz and flint found in Palo Pinto county where I now reside.

Look I found a thing! Usually when I see a rock embedded in another rock I think fossil... however IF this is a fossil I have no idea what it would be. So at this point im thinking maybe its another Xenolith. What are your thoughts? For anyone interested, this was found near Vancouver Canadia.

Hey everyone, I had to make a trip up to Spokane, Washington, to help my grandparents move. They’re moving in with us. While I was helping pack boxes, I found this rock in their garage. Obviously has fossils in it. My grandfather was kind enough to give it to me. Any idea what this is? Is it even a fossil? I am attaching pictures.

Hyachi!! What have I found?? I thought a rock that somewhat resembled the head and mouth of a shark. Thought that was kinda meat. So I washed it off a bit. And studied the rock awhile longer.

I found this rock on Folly Beach yesterday and know even less about these sorts of fossils than I do about shark's teeth. Can someone please tell me what this is? There are 3 of them in the rock, but the other one was harder to photograph. Thanks!

Hi-looking in a field in S.E. Michigan and found this thing. I cannot tell if it is a rock or a bone or a tooth. I am guessing most likely a rock, maybe with the holes from weathering or fossil inclusions? Any help would be much appreciated

I appreciate any guidance-my interest is for a general definition, as an art major, to integrate it in my work. I'm sure it's obvious to y'all, thank you for having this forum available.

Hello, the decorative rocks in the complex where I live in Louisiana have fossil traces. Many (possibly all) seem to be metamorphic from originating sedimentary layers. Mostly shells and coral imprints, but I've found two like this now. What is this please? Is it vertebrate or invertebrate? I don't know the actual origin of this rock, where the company that provided it gets them from. It is about one quarter inch in size.

Hi, I hope everyone is well. I was out walking at a location close to Darwen in the UK, north of England on a moor. Happened to come across a small stream the banks very eroded and collapsing so decided to walk the stream and check rocks for fossils and other artifacts and came across a large heavy oval shaped rock under the bank which had collapsed hidden from view I had to reach in and under to get it. It stuck out like a sore thumb from all other rocks, is unusually very heavy for size of the rock. Strange colours and has a gloss effect to it and one side is smoother than the other that may have been exposed to droplets from under the bank side. It wasn't in the stream. Does anybody know what it is? Object is about 6.5 inches long.

I' m a local photographer in Flagler Beach, FL. I frequent a local beach almost daily. I have come across quite an interesting find. Currently due to stormy weather causing rough waves and some higher than normal tides the rocks have been sliding down into the ocean and breaking apart. Well a wonderful treasure was exposed in one of the rocks. A skull. There is also a tooth and what looks to be bone vertebrate. I am in the process of excavating currently but would love to know who this skull belongs to. Any help is appreciated!!

Today I was on a trip in Mississippi and found these suspicious looking objects, the area has generally more mountainous rocks, but these stuck out to me. The first one might be limestone, the second I think is either a rock or a bone, and same with the third, I do not have the one I believe is limestone anymore, but I was just curious if it was limestone.

Found on Holden Beach, North Carolina along the shoreline. The beach is currently being dredged and renourished from a couple miles off the coast and it’s possible this item came through the dredges. Has a strange webbing like pattern throughout which is why I kept it. Appears to be pourous and has weight but is not super heavy for its size. Is this just a rock or something else?

Hey all. I recently came back from visiting my mamaw in corbin ky. I stopped at a vendors market and bought a random bag marked jewelry Making. This was random junk thrown in a ziplock. This booth was very vintage and antique with a lot of random and strange things. Sooo question is what in the world is this. Not sure if my mind is messing with me but I can't seem to hold it without feeling weird haha. So feels petrified or rock like but shapped like my stubby finger... I don't know much about this stuff so I figured I would find a forum to tell me if it's rock, finger, or even animal drops
