Hello Everyone, I found this eroded partial nodule while on a fossil hunt at Runswick Bay last year. I think it contains part of a fish but I'm not sure of the type. I've had a look at some other Yorkshire fish material, primarily Gyrosteus, but haven't seen anything like it yet. Most of the Gyrosteus material seems to be much bigger then whats in this block. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify what it is, I think I have sections of fin as well as possibly a cluster of ribs eroding out of the block. I've also included an annotated image of the

Found this rock on the beach in Runswick Bay, Yorkshire. It is very light weight compared to its size. Is it a rock or some type of fossil? Could it be Scoria? Any help with the ID is appreciated.

Had a walk from Runswick Bay to Kettleness and back yesterday, found some nice ammonites, a few belemnites, bivalves etc. Not sure what this is, if anything. Is anyone able to identify it from the pictures? For those unfamiliar with the area it’s close to Whitby, an area known for Jurassic marine fossils

Today i visited runswick bay. I’ve been to this beach before and it’s lovely. There is a nice big car park, toilets and a cafe for a cuppa. These photos show the view from near the car park. When we arrived there wasnt many people on the beach but it soon got busier and the car park was near full when we left. Sadly i didnt find very many fossils but i did find two dacs. We met a photographer down on the beach who didnt have much luck finding anything so we gave the bottom ammonite to give to his young son. A

Hello, Everyone. This is another sample from Runswick Bay on Yorkshires Jurassic Coast. I'm hoping that someone will tell me that is a paddle bone from a marine reptile. All replies gratefully recieved.

Hi, Everyone. This is something I picked up at Runswick Bay on Yorkshires Jurassic coast. The curve looks organic but I suspect that it may be a geological nodule. Any comments would be welcome.

I was on a trip to yorkshire coast, picked this up at runswick bay in amongst the boulders. Apparently it's one of the best areas for bones. It looks like a bone to me, i want it to be a bone! Is it a bone?
