  1. A friend of Tammy's has a chunk of amethyst crystals and was curious as to what the rusty orange highlights on the crystals might be caused by. I'm assuming it's some sort of iron oxide deposit leftover from when the amethyst crystals were created within the geode. I know that impurities of iron are responsible for turning the colorless quartz into a lovely purple amethyst. Has anybody else seen these rusty highlights in their amethyst specimens? Cheers. -Ken '
  2. Coryander

    Unknown object

Hello, Found this on a beach in Algarve, Portugal. It looked like a piece of rust, and it was a little magnetic. With pliers, I broke the rust, and inside there was a metallic, hook-shaped object. What can it be? How old could it be? Thanks
  3. Entropy

    impression on pebble

Heres another. This is some sort of impression? Dunno. Does not look like much can be made from inspecting it but thought someone might find it interesting...or not.
