Hello I recently purchased these two teeth that were in a bin of South Carolina shark teeth. The seller believed they were tiger shark but I immediately knew that was incorrect. I was just wondering if could get your opinions. They are from South Carolina and I believe that are Miocene in age. Thanks -Daniel 1 inch 0.70 inch

Hominid/ape/primate fossils - Why arent they sold often?
FF7_Yuffie posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
Hi Im wondering if there is a reason hominid fossils dont come up for sale much. I think all ive seen for sale was a misidentified bone and a bit of jaw. Are they just not desirable? I can definitely see why some people wouldnt want them, so do sellers not get them just because theres no market. Or are they just extremely rare? Or other reasons, like most found end up being studied? I imagine even small, isolated bones would be of more scientific interest than an isolated dino bone. Cheers -

Reality of life unfortunately Have tried a Google search for similar here in the UK, but didn't come up with much. Would any UK members be able to provide any info / websites advertising such? Thanks

britishcanuk posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi, I saw this jaw section for sale and was wondering if it’s legitimate and if so, what is it? It measures approximately 6.5” x 4”. There is no collection data with it. thanks. -
Hadrosaur egg - legitimate?
carlthebarbarian posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi everyone, I am interested in picking up a hadrosaur egg as a gift to my wife, who is a dinosaur enthusiast. However, I'm worried about picking up a fake. I have found a couple of online listings, and I was wondering if I could get some feedback. As far as I can tell, one of the sellers is from a long-established group in the fossil community but I would like to double check this with someone through private messages. Attached are the photos. The ones with a light blue background are from the first seller (hence Seller_1), and the others are from another (Seller_2). -
Fake Chinese Dromaeosaur?
Hell Creek Dinosaurs posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
This is my first time posting on this site. I have the opportunity to purchase a potential Dromaeosaur type dinosaur fossil from the Yixian Formation of China. I know there are laws about exporting these types of fossils but the dealer assures me it has been in his possession for a long time. Also, I am willing to take the risk to own an incredible piece of history like this. However, I am not sure if the fossil is real. Based on what I have seen and read the fossil looks like the real deal but would like some other people's advice about it. It is described as a Dromaeosaur type dinosaur which is what the skeleton looks like but would like anyone else's opinion on whether it is authentic or not. Thanks for you help! -Ryan
