I found this fossil which looks like bone at Saltwick Bay, near Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast. I have been told it maybe ichthyosaur and someone said it maybe a fish bone from a Gyrosteus. Can anyone help me with an ID? The rocks where I found it are definitely Jurassic and I also found lots of ammonites and belemnites in the area. Thanks Holly

I found this squashed ammonite about a week ago at saltwick bay. It had washed up onto the beach, so could be from here or elsewhere. it’s squashed and not 3D sadly.

I just found this down on the yorkshire coast. Is it bone? One side looks like bone the other looks slightly different.

Basically we've bought a lovely new static caravan near whitby, and today have drove up to pay for it. Saltwick bay, if anybody knows it. The previous owners who were on the plot that my static will go on had a bunch of old rocks in their little garden plot. I've asked for all them to be removed, but i found these there. Looks like they've been there for over 10 years. Sadly due to the tides I couldnt do any fossil hunting myself, but there will be plenty of finds coming from me in the future. (maybe even some reptile remains in the stormy winter months) So the best things i picked up were these. They're very dirty as i've just washed them. Double Dac nodule! Old hildy, looks like the other end might split with a chisel and hammer, hopefully revealing a nice specimen with a decent centre.

Is this wood? Or some kind of fern plant? I collected this at saltwick bay.

I picked up this cool fossil while walking back. I’m guessing it’s a plant fossil? Found at saltwick bay, Yorkshire.
