Today me and my boys met up with fellow forum member, @DrDave for a hunt at Cole Hill. Dave recently moved to the Syracuse area, so we were finally able to schedule a hunt after a few failed attempts. We were hoping @Al Tahan would be able to join us but unfortunately he could not. Me and the boys arrived about 8:40 am with Dave arriving shortly after. There was some cloud cover for a good portion of our time there which was nice as it kept the sun off our backs and kept the temps down. I cant say that we made any spectacular finds but there were a few trilobite bits and pieces as well as plenty Bembexias, various Brachs and bivalves. It was a nice day to be out hunting for sure. About 11am it starting raining on and off for the remainder of our stay. We moved around the site trying to find easier areas to dig in and found a spot with some potential for further inspection. So while there may not have been any great finds, it was nice to finally meet Dave and get to know him a bit. Here are some of our finds. First is a nice detailed Bembexia that Devin found

Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with @Dsailor at The Cole Hill Dipleura site in Sangerfield. After getting blasted with snow earlier in the week, I wasn't sure if we would have favorable conditions to hunt but decided to give it a shot. We were greeted at the site with aleast a couple feet of snow in the pulloff and about a foot or so up on the cliff. We both decided we didn't drive all this way for nothing. I brought my trusty snow shovel and he he'd a small shovel, so after trudging up th side of the cliff wecleared a spot for us to start working. It really didn't take to long to clear a decent spot. Also it did not take long before we started spotting stuff. I was surprised at the amount of stuff Dom was finding. He found quite a few cephalons and pygidium s from Dipleuras and even some Greenops which are more rare from this site. He also was finding a lot of cephalopods amongst other goodies. I seemed to find a lot of gastropods this trip. Then our hearts started beating when he uncovered the body of a Dipleura. We thought for sure it was whole. After a while of trying to carefully remove the surrounding matrix he was able to extract the body with pygidium intact but the cephalon was missing. Still a great find. I was very excited for him and glad he was able to leave with some good stuff. My collecting was kind of meager but I had good company and the sun came out which made the day a blessing. Drove up to NY for my first trip hunting. Thanks to Dave (darctooth), I managed to get to the Sangerfield roadcut without any problems for what eventually turned out to be a very pleasant day. Things were a bit rough starting out as the fog was heavy early heading out from PA and a balmy 35 degrees Three hours later it was sunny and breaking into the mid-40's as I pulled up to the days target location I took about half a dozen steps when I spotted my 1st trilo head staring up from the loose shale before I even made it up the hill From that point on I kept up a steady pick of pieces and parts throughout the day, unfortunately I couldn't manage to find any that were whole. I also managed to find some other interesting pieces. Nothing particularly special, but considering I had only ever found a single trilo head on a previous trip it was a good day for me. If nothing else it gave me a bunch of pieces to practice prep on for the day when I finally get a complete specimen
