My 8yo daughter found these in Myrtle Beach, SC, help IDing please!
JumpJ37 posted a topic in Fossil ID
My daughter and I found over 100 shark teeth and other fossils this week on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. Here’s a small number of interesting and representative fossils. I’ve tried to look at a few ID guides, but it’s tough to tell definitively what these are. Any help would be appreciated! -
Friend found this today in SC. Any ideas?

Any ideas what this may be? Measures around 2.5” at its longest point. Found at Folly Beach, SC.

So got some gravel from SC courtesy of @Fin Lover - and this tooth was in it. I know Alopias latidens has cusps in SC, which this one does on one side, but we’ve been debating whether or not it’s Alopias or I. retroflexus. The root is quite thick and rounded. @Al Dente @hemipristis @MarcoSr Thanks in advance!

Hey new member from Charleston SC I have a few fossils I would like identified. All were found here in Charleston (besides the third one) at a spot I frequently hunt for sharks teeth the first fossil I know is a horse tooth but the specific species is what I want to know. The last fossil I believe might be a bird bone because the hollowness but I’m not sure. For the others any help would be appreciate, thanks. 1. 2. 3.

Normally we only go out shell hunting, but recently learned a bit about fossils and shark teeth here in SC. So we found this on our first trip on the beach. Might it be a plastron bone? We're very new at this hobby so any help on the species and time period would be appreciated (if it is a fossil).

I had scoped out a few potential fossiling sites in the Summerville area with the help of Google maps, and finally got the chance to check them out on Saturday. While I still couldn't tell you where to find huge teeth in Summerville, I can certainly tell you where you won't now. However, I did find a few promising spots that will require further investigation. Out of the 4 or so new spots I checked out, only two held even the smallest tooth. I also visited an old favorite spot and did alright there. Here are the results from this trip. I've also got some unknown specimens that I have included

This fossil was found today during low tide. It is longer than most shark’s teeth we’ve been finding. Measures approximately 4.75cm x 2cm. I’ve picked up A LOT of oyster shells, pieces of phosphate and rocks thinking they were teeth. This may well be the same thing. It’s the only way I’m going to learn so I appreciate any help in identifying. Thanks!

Recently aquired this tooth. Sold as a Chubutensis, but some thought it was a meg. Can anybody confirm it for me? Found in the clay from May River, Beaufort County.

Last week we picked up this tiny gem of a bone. Could it possible be a dinosaur bone? It was found in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Hey everyone. I have recently gotten my family into the study of paleontology, but so far, we've only bought fossils online. i.e fossilera. For spring break planning on going Sharks teeth hunting in Summerville South Carolina and are looking for good spots to find sharks teeth and other things. Does anyone here have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The seller said it was found by a diver in Beaufort county, South Carolina. The bourlette, the root and the serration were damaged . The seller said it is a great white shark tooth, but I’m not so sure.

staying in the area for a bit and got out to explore a creek near summerville with my son for a few hours. Steamy hot, but it was still nice to be out searching. Nothing sizable, and many beat up teeth, but we did manage a really nice small great white (next to the penny)? Also happy to see the partial Angustidens- our first in any condition.
