The Photos attached are the last of the 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has also been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I like this fossil a lot, as you can see the exposed bottom of the fossil, as well as the exposed side of the fossil, with the rest trapped in the rock. Any thoughts on what creature this could be? Perhaps a muscle or large barnacle?

This is from a basement construction project in southwest corner of Wisconsin. We literally dug out a hundreds of thousands of fossils, 4' underground. They were in a 3-8" thick layer of concrete along with a type of brown sand/dirt full of other fossil parts. Out of the 6 hills of earth approx 12' high each, only the first hill is dirt. The other 5 are nothing but fossil's! I'm completely green to the fossil world so I'm doing my best here lol. In this particular rock I noticed several small 1" lobster things. Then I noticed what looked like bigger legs. One leg goes through a hole and out the other side (pretty cool) Ask me anything else and I'll answer as well as I'm able. Thanks. I'm sure I'll have endless questions as we pick through this rubble.

How do you distinguish different vertebrae? What are the characteristics of sea creatures vs land animals? Then when a land animal what are the distinguishing features between them? Are there specific things to look at or for when trying to ID them? What is the characteristics you look for when figuring whale or mastodon/mammoth? What are the specific characteristics you look for when differentiating deer, horse, sloth, bison? And so on... thank you so much for the input here

I believe this is a petrified sea urchin. Or part of one. Found it on the dry frio River here in Southwest Texas. Anybody know if this species has been found yet?

I got this in a creek bed near Uvalde, Tx and it appears to be some kind of worm. Part of one anyway. If you look closely you can see perfectly straight lines running horizontally and parallel to each other to form segments. I believe earthworms have this characteristic. Anybody know what it is?

This was sitting in my yard when I bought this house. The owner found it but didn't know what it was. Now every time I walk by it, it bugs me. Anyone have any idea's? The fossil's here on Vancouver Island are cretaceous sea creatures for the most part if that helps. Thanks!

Found this this weekend. It is heavy for its size and when I put a large hot needle to multiple areas it didn't even burn let alone smell. I think I found my first fossil bone. I know its not a lot to go on and I dont need a 100% id but id like an idea what it may be and I know you guys are crazy good at this stuff. it was found on a limestone bluff in southeast Kansas in Pennsylvanian age rock. in a later picture I show some fossils from the same area. there is a layer of shale mixed in. that's about all the helpful info I can give. I dont understand why theres a limit on picture size but im going for quality so sorry about the multiple posts.
