Hi Everyone, This rock came from Northwest Arkansas on a steep hillside of a creek valley. The rocks in this area very often contain trace fossils. I broke this rock open, and found what looks like an animal claw. I'm going to post a picture of the rock (both halves), a close up of where the object came from, then three pictures of the object itself. You'll notice that the tip of the "claw" is hollow. Is this from an animal, or is it just some kind of coral?

An acquaintance of mine found this material in a river bed here in Dane County, Wisconsin. Most of the locality bedrock is Ordovician or Cambrian limestone, sandstone or dolomite. This area is also glaciated, although you don't see a lot of till or erratics right around here. Any suggestions what this might be? It was initially suspected as fossilized wood, although that seems unlikely.

Hello everyone I found this stone in the middle of a sandy desert. 60cm long, 15cm wide, very heavy. When I cut it in half, I was very surprised at all these pretty colors. Which kind of stone is it? Any idea?

Hey everyone, I was walking along Maslin Beach (South Australia) and a found this rock. I knew straight away that it looked very strange. Does anyone know what this strange shape could be? I'm guessing maybe a the remains of a gastropod shell? Thanks!

If anyone could help me out identifying the following I'd really appreciate it a lot... The coral is a little bit crystallized - petrified, I found it in a beach near Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico The black polished fossil, was a gift, and there is not a clue of information The shells are from the coast of Portugal, and the fossilized snail I found it near Zacatecas, Mexico The Sedimentary Rock, I can't remember where I got it...so maybe because of the different colors and shape someone has a clue... Thanks again....
