Found some nice oysters, bivalves and possibly brachiopod (?) in Cierbo Sandstone (Miocene) at about 1800 ft. elevation. The largest oyster measured near 7 inches long and weighed 4 lbs!

Someone else mentioned finding oyster fossils in the SF East Bay area CA, What you you guys think of this one? Area is a creek bed draining a diverse ranging from Miocene to Jurassic and in between. Thanks in advance for lending your experience and knowledge to hep me I.D. fossils.

Heys guys. Another one. Wondering if the intrusions on this one are fossils. Of the intrusions looked rather bone-like, so I wanted to post up and get some opinions. Area is SF East Bay area, CA, creek bed which drains a diverse range from Miocene to Jurassic and in between. Thanks in advance. RCD

Hey guys, yet another I..D. request from new fossil spot, which is a deep creek bed which drains a diverse area ranging from Miocene to Jurassic. Wondering if this could be fossilized wood. Any thoughts?

My 5 YO son found this just over our backyard fence in a seasonal creek bed. As you can see, appears to be a nice shell fossil, but what is most interesting to my son and I is what looks to be an impression of a shark tooth. The shape looks right. What do you all think? Is that a shark tooth impression? Also, any idea of what kind of shell (gastropod?) that is? BTW, The creek is a main drainage of the Northwest flanks of Mt. Diablo in the SF Bay Area, CA, USA. Every winter rocks and boulders wash down the creek, so I cannot know the specific geological time zone, but we've found fossils a couple of miles upstream. There is a band of Miocene formation that borders the area, but certainly other geological time rock areas within the watershed as well.
