Found in Southern Ontario, late Ordovician. Would these be the fossilized burrows of the Brachiopods? Or just odd erosion? Note the trace fossils around the "Burrows".

Hello there adventurers. I found this quite a while back in the woods of northern Sweden. Pretty high up in altitude and not near any water. I know nothing about this type of stuff but I was interested to find out what it is. All I can really say about it is that it is a shell. I guess it’s pretty hard to determine how old it is or what it is but I thought I’d share anyway. Hope somebody can help!

Hi Everyone, I am a noob to the fossil world but have always loved looking at different shells, rocks, formations and antiquities. On a recent beach holiday to Forster NSW, Australia, I can across this rock on Pebbly Beach. Can anyone clarify if this is a fossil and if so what sort? Thanks in advance for your insight. Stuart

A friend found this stone west of the Missouri in SD. It's now in my possession. There's one very visible spiral shell and what I believe are fragments of more scattered throughout, plus some bonus crystalline spots and something funky going on next to them (pic 4). I have no idea when it dates to, but another rock found nearby is probably Ordovician. However, according to the friend, they were all deposited there by the river more recently and were near the surface, so context is pretty lacking. As you can see, the rock itself is pretty weird too, especially on the back. Answers to any of my

Poked around my local neck of the woods in San Pedro, California, along the coast by Point Fermin didn't have much luck aside from this... I'm not even sure if it's just eroded or an actual fossil some help in that regard would be particularly appreciated! Oh I'm assuming that if it is a fossil it came from the Altamira Shale?

Found these two shells while hiking in the Panoche foothills in CA. Not near the ocean so figured they could be fossils, yeah? They are around two inches (5cm?).

I don’t think this is quite fossilized yet, and think it’s some type of shell but I don’t know. I find similar shell pieces on the beach but not with this weird bumpy swirl. Anyone know what it is? I can’t remember where I found it but it was definitely Florida. Thanks!

My mom and dad gave me a box of shells they found years ago in a central Texas creek. I believe it was around Williamson County, but not sure. This is the largest specimen. Measurements are in inches. Shells are an area I'm not very familiar with, but this one appears similar to examples of exogyra I found online. I'm hoping someone else can tell me more.

I was at a sand bag station pile and found some goodies .... I think the rounded top cones on the bottom are Conus Carlottae- they show a very particular pattern under UV light and this is the 2nd time now finding these shells at this location. Wish I knew where the dirt came from....! Then we have this volute looking thing that I haven't seen before either ... anyone know what that is? On the left is what we would call a zigzag flat today...a deep water scallop that's top is flat and bottom is more deeply curved than a Calico. You can see the casting of th
