Hello! I'm a complete newbie here so any help would be gratefully received. I've recently been given a small collection of bones that belonged to a neighbour of my parents here in the UK. He was a fossil collector who recently passed away. The largest bone has been identified as a woolly rhino femur but I'm struggling with the others, especially this strange looking thing! Apologies for the background.

Good morning everyone! I was hoping someone would be able to help me identify this weird looking fossil. I researched it for days and think it may be a really worn down sea robin skull! It is the size of a US quarter (24.257 mm in diameter) I found it while sifting for sharks teeth in Fernandina Beach, Florida (Nassau county). Anything helps! Thanks in advance!

Hi there! New member here. My meemaw just shared this item with me that was found near a creek bed behind her house (just north of San Antonio, Texas). Looks like it has some identifiable facial features, but it is awfully heavy. Thanks in advance for your help in soothing her curiosity! K

I was wondering if anyone can verify the descriptions match the fossils. Second one is a lance creek formation fossil, they believe it to be a partial triceratops skull, it looks like a partial skull but not those of a triceratop?

I am curious as to whether or not this is a fossilized animal skull. I found it in a section of woods in San Antonio TX that was a Paleo Indian camp thousands of years ago. I have found several Paleo Indian Points and tools also. Does anyone have any input concerning this piece? -
My husband thinks it looks like a bone or a skull of some kind. Any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I live in southeastern Pennsylvania in a small town just north of the Delaware/Pennsylvania border. I live on the edge of a large neighborhood next to a very old plot of woods with very large old growth trees. Next to my house is a stream that exits out of the neighborhood through a drainage pipe and into the woods. The streambed cuts down through into the ground about 6 feet below grade and when it rains heavy, the stream becomes a torrent of runoff that dredges up rocks making it an interesting place to walk after a storm. I found this in Alabama. I think it's a skull of some sort but every other time I've posted trying to get a fossil i.d. turns out all my " fossils " were just rocks lol. I love rocks and that will always be true but I'm getting a little discouraged with fossils . Please give me some good news that at least this is a real bone. Lol . It is 3 inches tall . 5 inches long and almost 3 inches wide. -
Hey guys, I saw this listed as a fossil rock but I feel like it could be a skull, it has the shape of a skull and crystals where it’s eyes would have been. What do you guys think? It’s found in kerrville, Texas.

Hi all! First of all I can’t believe I’m posting an is it an egg question LOL! But I was going through some Texas Permian matrix I just received and danged if this doesn’t seem like a piece of egg shell... but there’s no way I’d be lucky enough to find a piece of Permian egg so I’m betting it’s bone but still.... sorry for another egg topic but I gotta know! I can't figure out. how to use your site! I have a fossilized head that I think is snake or turtle. It measures ap. 1 1/2" long, 1" wide & 1/2" high. If you or anyone could help me figure out what it is, I would really appreciate it. I got the head about 1995 at an auction In Southern California. Thank you.

Fossil was found in a river bed in northeast Texas known for Cretaceous fossils... Fanin county if my memory serves me.. between 2000-2005. I didn’t know what it was for the longest time. After staring at this thing for a very long time it dawned on me... could it be a compressed skull. It measures 2 inches from front to back and 1.5inches at its widest point by .5 of an inch thick.I thought I would post it up and try to get some feedback!! Thank you in advance for any information!! Found a bone piece, maybe 2 1/2" at its longest, solid and heavy for its size. The 'bottom' is partly "stippled" (not part of the atlas vertebra, as I learned here recently). Different textures on different sides, the small protuberance is remarkable for the number of holes and channels (for blood vessels? nerve bundles?), at least one passing straight through. @Boesse you seem to be the acknowledged expert here. Do I have enough and are the photos (sorry!) clear enough to guess at an ID?

I bought this bone in a German store a while ago. It is an "unidentified" bone from the Kem Kem Beds in Morocco. I am not exactly sure what it is, or what it's from, but to me it looks a bit like a small skull element or perhaps a broken-off part of a vertebrate? Are there anyone who can tell what kind of bone this is? It's about 5,5 cm in length.

Sooooo.... I have a skullfragment from Brazil dating back from the 60s, but have no data other than that I'm afraid and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions in terms of ID? There is no prep done to it, so there is quite a bit of bony matrix still attached.
