Hello all, I am an amateur scientist from Southwestern Indiana and came across this interesting sandstone boulder while hiking an old surface mine area near me. I first thought it was man made but it has too many layers and definitely sandstone. Any one know more about this type of pattern? Thanks for any help.

I would appreciate some help identifying some of my latest finds. Since I am in Southern Indiana, I know many of my finds are silicified or geodized and I kind of know what some of them are but I want to be sure. I apologize if this post seems to be a bombardment of pictures that I am asking help identifying but I didn't want to post too many separate posts. Hopefully I've correctly uploaded pictures & if I am doing anything incorrectly please give me advise. First are what look to be turtle shells or are they just geodes moonlighting as turtle shells?

I don't know the first thing about Fossils. What I have found would appear to be a fossil to me, but I honestly have no clue what it is. Would love to hear your opinions.

Hi Folks, A friend of mine at work recently told me that he had a natural rock outcropping on his farm so I naturally asked about any fossils there. He said he has found fossil centipedes. I had him draw a picture for me, it was an elongated narrow oval with legs around the outside perimeter. Swears they are centipedes! Possible? I think that area is Pennsylvanian, SW Indiana. Thanks, Jed
