Hey everyone! I recently scouted out a new site in southern California and was very successful! We found a lot of petrified wood. I'm not going to be able to post everything, but here are some of the best pieces below!

Hey everyone! I was recently down in Southern California hunting for fossils when I came along a weird fossil. I picked it up because on the surface it looks like it has feeding from a rodent. It isn't bone, since it doesn't have the characteristics of bone, but when talking with another paleontologist, he brought up the idea that it could be plant material. The area that it was found in does produce a lot of petrified wood, so if this was a seed or something like that, it would make sense. I'm not sure about the exact formation because when looking at Rock'd, it lists multiple formations, but I'll post a picture of the formations below. What do you think this is? Any response is appreciated! Thanks, everyone!

Hey everyone! I was down at a ranch in Southern California looking for fossils when I came across these two pieces below. They look like coprolite to me, but would love some other input. I’m not sure on the exact formation, but I found a lot of petrified wood in the same area. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

Hi all! I'm located just down the road from San Pedro and Palos Verdes, CA. From research alone, I am aware there are a handful of Pleistocene era sites in San Pedro and Palos Verdes, CA--mostly with mollusk specimens--though I am unaware of where they are located specifically. Last weekend I checked out the embankment above John Gibson Boulevard in San Pedro, but I didn't see any evidence of previous digging, so I didn't quite know where to start. In all honestly, it seemed that no one had dug there in quite a while--the entire area was covered in vegetation. Any tips as to where to go, specifically, would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
