  1. Hey guys, just found this spinosaurus foot claw for sale. It seems good to me but I really don’t know much about claws. May I have your opinions on this one? Thanks a lot!
  2. Hello, may I ask if this Spinosaurus tooth is natural? The seller said this is No repair or restoration. Thanks for any opinions. Merry Christmas!

    Suchomimus?

I was given these teeth by a friend many many years ago and they were identified as plesiosaur teeth. They are from Niger, Africa. I looked and found no record of plesiosaurs ever being found in Niger. I also did a bit of compairing with other plesiosaur teeth and found no match. One of them looks to me to be from a suchomimus or some other spinosaur (judging by the grooves on the tooth). The other two look to be from some sort of crocodyloform, possibly stolokrosuchus.
  4. I wanted to share this right leg Spinosaurus leg. its not everyday this comes up just for discussion. I know there a few things wrong with it, but I still felt it was interesting enough to share. For one thing its missing the upper inside toe that is located higher then its three main toes. And of course its composited with parts of different animals, that is always the case . It also seems like some of the proportions and position are off. Sized at 40 x 38 x 130 cm (discription)
  5. Hi, I would like to buy this fossil, but I don’t know if it is a real fossil because I am not expert, it is a spinosaurus claw. can you please help me ? thank you very much
  6. Okay so just in the short amount of time since I’ve signed up I’ve already learned a lot. Especially how many fabrications come out of Morocco. I had no idea until I did a little bit of digging. With that being said, what’s your opinions on this spinosaur claw? Real? Fake? I think it’s definitely made up from real bone as there is sheen coming off of it. But I can’t tell if it’s been carved or not. My eye has yet to be trained. Even if it’s real I’m still embarrassed that i
  7. Hello, These two 6-8 inch Spinosaurus Claws were purchased online. They do not appear correct at to me. They seem unnatural a bit and kind of feel like some type of lotion on the surface, Maybe the lotion feel is just to help transport?s5.zip s2.zip s3.zip
  8. I rarely buy fossils and don’t know much about them but I was in a small fossil museum in a village in England called “Robin Hood’s Bay” and I saw this Spinosaurus Tooth for sale and I’m wondering if it is real. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. So I needed a lot of Spinosaur teeth and cheap since they were going to be a gift for kids 13-14 years old as a part of a school project. I contacted a known online shop which sells at a discount if you buy similar to seen instead of actual as seen. I think that I got a bit scammed. Maybe not, is just that these teeth looks a lot more (for me) as crocodile than Spinosaur. I know that there are a lot and the pics are not that good, but I really need just to know if some of them are in fact not Spinosaur since then I would cancel the gift. I can't just give fake information at a school project.
  10. So after finding out that the previous spinosaurus toe claw was fabricated I went to a fossil website and found this now I managed to find a hig res image and a full video I hope this can help identifying YouCut_20210508_152721970.mp4
  11. So I am completely new to fossils and recently aquired a spinosaurs tooth. This was from a dealer I frequently buys rocks and minerals from but this was new items they had. Just wondering if I can confirm that it is real. It was inexpensive, and I have read they are very common now so it seemed about right. Any information is greatly appreciated.

    Spinosaurus jaw?

It is been sold here--seller gave me permission to post it on the ID thread for a second look. So, if anyone can give me your thoughts, that would be great! It is spinosaurus, from Kem Kem Basin.

    How are fossils formed

Going really basic here being new on the fossil game i wanted to know how a fossil gets created because i have read that the bone gets replaced by rock or sediments and they take its original form but if that's the case then we are not holding teeth, we are holding rocks in the form of teeth when holding a fossilized tooth for example. I don't really know so if someone could please explain to me if the fossil is actual tooth like it was back then or it becomes rock and the general process it would be much appreciated.

    Spinosaur teeth differences

I have a tooth of a spinosaurid from North Africa. These are pretty common in the market. My question is, can species be told apart by teeth? There are only three species of spinosaur in the area I believe, Spinosaurus (morrocensis?) and sigilmassasaurus, and the baryonyxid suchomimus. Can teeth morphology be used to determine which one? Surely it must at least be able to tell suchomimus from the other two, right?
  15. So I was reading in The Dinosaur Heresies: New Theories Unlocking the Mystery of the Dinosaurs and Their Extinction by Robert T. Bakker and in it I came upon a line that says "Modern reptiles dominate the role of large freshwater predator. But dinosaurs didn't produce any swimming predators at all." (Pg 82) With the new evidence from Dr. Ibrahim about the spinosaurs, does Bakker's claim need to be revised? For those who have read his book, is there any other pieces of information that need to be revised in this book? I am writing a short paper for a biology class on it and would like to know what things have been contradicted by new evidence. Thanks!
