Spinosaurus claw and bones - real?
Twinsen posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, could you help me what do you think about this Spinosaurus claw and bones? I´m thinking about buy it. I know, that is reconstructed, but I hope is not fake, or is it? Thank you very much for help. -
So sadly its paywalled as usual I hope to read it soon but the general theme of the abstract seems to suggest various taxonomic of spinosaurus family are no longer valid. Again until I read the paper I wont say anything more than personally I'm highly skeptical. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0195667120302068

Hello, I know assorted bones can be difficult, but I'm wondering if anyone can recognise any of these mixed bones? Labelled as Kem Kem Dinosaur, possibly Spinosaurus. Anyone has any idea. Whether bone, kem kem, dinosaur or spino, that would be much appreciated. Cheers

I'm looking for a little help identifying this bone from the Kem Kem Beds. It looks to part of a vertebra - it's almost 6 inches long so I immediately thought that narrows it down to being a partial Spinosaurid or Charcharodontosaurus vertebra. After spending ages looking through previous post and searching for detailed pictures of vertebrae, I came to the conclusion it belongs to a Spinosaurid (Spinosaurus or Sigilmassasaurus) because the shape just looks wrong for Carch (although there isn't much to go off for Carch vertebrae). Just looking for some input as to whether I'm correct as I know some members are far more familiar with Kem Kem bones. Would you say this looks like a partial Spino vertebra or is it far too fragmentary to say?

I've always been fascinated by the Cretaceous sea and its myriad of terrifying carnivores, many that would've made Jaws look meek. After watching BBC's Sea Monsters, I made it my goal to compile a box of sea monster fossils. I started this journey 10 years ago, and finally completed the box recently. Allow me to present my Predators of the Cretaceous Sea collection, and take you on a journey to the most dangerous sea of all times. The box measures 20.25 inches long. Inside are 24 unique predator fossils. I will introduce them from left to right, top to bottom: Rhombodus binkhorsti Age: 70.6 - 66 mya | late Cretaceous Formation: Severn Formation Locality: Bowie, Maryland, USA Size: 1 meters Diet: Molluscs and crustaceans art by Nobu Tamura --------------- Polyptychodon interruptus Age: 105.3 - 94.3 mya | Cretaceous Formation: Stoilensky Quarry stratigraphic unit Locality: Stary-Oskol, Belgorod Oblast, Russia Size: Maybe 7 meters (This is a tooth taxon so size is not confirmed) Diet: Anything it could catch Note: If you consider Polytychodon a nomen dubium, then this is a Pliosauridae indet. art by Mark Witton ----------------- Prognathodon giganteus Age: 70.6 - 66 mya | late Cretaceous Formation: Ouled Abdoun Basin Locality: Khouribga Phosphate Deposits, Morocco Size: 10-14 meters Diet: Everything art by SYSTEM(ZBrushCentral) --------------- Coloborhynchinae indet. Age: 99.7 - 94.3 mya | late Cretaceous Formation: Kem Kem Beds Locality: Southeast Morocco Size: 7 meters (high estimate) Diet: Fish and cephalopods

Hello all. I bought this very neat large framed fossil a while back and the label says; “Fossil Vertebrae Dinosaur Spinosaurus Or Reptile Mosasaurus” Since I’m puzzled as the dealer was, though I lean Mosasaurus, I’m hoping some of you can help me identify what it is that I have. Personally I’m happy with either, especially considering the crazy deal I got on this specimen. If more images are needed I’ll provide them. Thanks in advance.

Hi there i continue to maintain my very very amateur status but I've been trying to read the different threads on here regarding spinosaurus jaw and what I gathered so far is pitting is reflective of croc jaw and if it only has a single socket or also makes it difficult to determine if its spino or croc. I found this one on our favorite auction site and wanted to get your opinion

Supposed Spinosaurus Jaw
Spinodude posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Came across this piece. Its advertised as being a juvie spinosaurus jaw with some of its teeth/roots still intact. Looks shady as heck to me and even if its 'real' it looks more like those elosuchus jaw parts you might find online. What do you guys say? -

Spinosaurus tooth? Just got into fossils...
KDD posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I bought this one already, my very first fossil of any kind. Is there anything that sets off any alarms? I know people usually enquire about longer teeth which might show signs of extension, but I would feel better just making sure. I also have my eyes set on a batch of 5. From what little I've researched, those 5 set off more alarm bells but I'm at my max total for attachments. -
Is this entirely a spinosaurus vert? I’m wondering if the top and bottom are from the same bone. From the sides I could see there being some matrix camouflaging where they’re connected, but then from the front or back view, i think it looks like it’s clearly uninterrupted, so as usual, I need help:/
