Hi all, I found this strange looking rock like object in a creek bed in central west Queensland. I don't know if it is a fossil of some strange rock. Has anyone seen anything like this before? Cheers, Andrew

Hello, I found this one deep in the desert near the Organ Mountains outside Las Cruces NM. I am not familiar with the age of the area. This piece is super cool to just look at and let your pareidolia run with it. Looking for help to identify. It's dimensions are 12x6x8 inches

So many shark, dinosaurs topic! Now I want to see your favourite and more particular fossil mammal! It can be your rarest or your strangest fossil but the fossil you love the most. Let me start with this partial juvenile metailurus mandible from Hipparion red clay of Gansu. The erupting tooth still preserve a perfect micro crenulation, I just love it.

Hello, I am completely new to fossil hunting. I recently found this in my back yard while filling in a hole that had been dug a few months back. I don't know if it's fossil, natural formation or garbage. I'm hoping the Fossil Forum members can help ID it for me. It was found in the far west part of the panhandle of Florida. I know the ground here has been disturbed in the recent past and it's possible fill dirt has been brought from somewhere else locally. At it's widest it is about 2.5", the thin cross section is about 1/4" and the tuber looking part is oval in shape , 3/4"x5/8". Thanks in advance for all your help.

Hi all, This is a tiny little find from a creek here in Florida. It could be nothing more than a polished bit of fossilized bone with some coincidental marks, but the markings are odd to me. I haven’t found bone pieces with such symmetrical and aligned cuts like this before. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what this may be?

Perhaps somebody have seen these very strange shape before?(i saw a lot of brachiopods before but never like those before)the very big problem is I can't say the stage ,the location, the label will be "Known unto God "

Heyy , I have these two bones from which I do not recognize the bone structure. Normally fish is layered, turtle to? The big one could me crocodile? I am lost on these bones. Hello everyone This tooth is one is like to buy if it's no repair, but it's a strange one. It looks as if it's supposed to have repair because the contours are off. But the enamel is really pretty. What say people here? Repairs?

So I've been following this fossil for awhile now, there was a fossil that was found in the Marl Slate of NE England. It has odd traits compared to the usual fish found in the slate, as it has a elongate body. Do any of you know of any species of elongate Permian Fish species?

Hi everyone, just came across this site trying to figure out what I just found. Discovered in the salt water in Chatham, MA, US. I have no clue whether this is current or ancient, terrestrial or marine, etc. You can see the next set of teeth still in the bone. It's about 10 cm long, and the largest tooth is about 1 cm wide.

I found this on my walk through the park here on the gravel drive... Location West of Houston Texas The gravel came from a deposit from the Brazos River Its odd appearance made me pick it up...what in the heck is it though??

Not sure what to make of this, I first thought that maybe it was part of a large gastropod shell but after digging it out of the sandstone boulder it was in, it looks as if that may be almost the complete specimen. Looks to be about 80% complete. Anyone have a clue as to what this might be?

Helicoprion's bottom jaw is easily the most bizarre of all sharks. With a bottom jaw shaped like a circular saw, just how did this shark kill/eat prey? Did its bottom jaw lash out to inflict debilitating flesh wounds, or did it do something else?

I found this fossil in Galveston Texas. It is really small about 1cm. The area is late Pleistocene in age, deposits from the Beaumont formation. I found it along with a turtle shell fragment, and 3 crab claws (which are also fossilized).

I'm not sure what this is but it was found on the beach this summer in North Carolina. I thought it was a really strange color contrast. It might just be a shell but I thought I'd see if anyone had other ideas. It is smooth with no sharp edges. Thanks

Found this on the Frio River near Uvalde, Tx. It has a strange shape with a lip around one side of it and it appears to have some kind of a core. Here are some pictures.

I found this over 15 years ago in an alley. I have kept it in a box all this time and now would like to finally figure out what it could be . Any ideas ?

Hello again- I am doing a favor for a friend who is a "picker," and frequents estate sales. He collects many things, but not really fossils or rocks. He did happen across this very odd rock piece and asked me if I had any idea what it could be. At first I thought Ammonite, but upon further review of better photos he sent I doubt it is. It looks to me like an old piece of machinery that left an impression in material that hardened. I've seen it in person since and it is very strange, definitely rock, and doesn't look to be of natural origin; but then again, many fossils or geological finds can look so similar to something of human origin. So, any idea what the hell this thing is? Sorry, being an estate sale he asked questions, but the people running the sale were not family and had no information at all. He bought it for $2! I would have as well for that price!
