We found a few of these stones. It looks like flint or Chert is this correct?? However there are white marks in the stone along with what looks like a shell just trying to ID if these may be fossilized organisms?

This looks to be bone in 3 pieces, largest piece over 5 inches long and 5/8 inch thick. Need help finding what animal this belongs to. oligocene to Pleistocene formations are mostly in this area

Hi fellow fossil hunters. I am new to the forum and learning the ropes. Please let me know if there's a better area to request finding other fellow fossil companions who may be interested in doing a fossil outing around the Summerville area or Charleston. I'm pretty much a loner who has become intrigued in finding not just shark teeth but any kind of fossils just as a personal hobby. Not asking for anyone ones hidden Honey holes, just an opportunity to meet up and make a few new friends and lean some general safe places to get started in the area. If anyone is interested in getting a small group together before summer is over please let me know. And direct me to other places on the forum please if this isn't the best place. Hi, I am new to this website and hope the following is O.K. to ask. At a young age of 66 years, I have taken a special interest in researching, hunting, and collecting fossilized shark teeth. It gives me a feeling of wonder, amazement, and accomplishment when finding something nobody has possibly seen or touched in millions of years. I would imagine it is the same feeling people have when "panning" and finding gold. Here in Texas, I have visited the Post Oak Creek in Sherman and the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. So far, I have found a few small teeth but nothing to brag about. This year, my Wife and I are planning a mid to late May motorcycle trip visiting the Savannah, Georgia; Summerville/Charleston, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina areas. During this trip, I hope to search these areas' local beaches/creeks for some larger teeth with my "bucket list wish" to find at least one large Megalodon (in excess of 4 to 5 inches) tooth. I am not a deep sea diver. So, with the ever increasing popularity of shark teeth hunting, I do not know if it is still even possible to find a large Megalodon tooth in these areas. Since my vacation time will be limited, I have been doing some internet searching for prime areas to visit, their rules/regulations for hunting shark teeth, and the names of possible individuals/businesses, for a fee, will take you to these prime areas not heavily searched. In turn, with those of you who have visited or live in these areas, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Allen S. Forney, Texas (near Dallas)

Hi there, My eyes really aren't trained yet to spot shark coprolites but I know they are here. This popped up in my sifter on Friday and was curious if this is the real deal. It sorta looks right and has a spiral .. but then again the phosphate nodules can take on all kinds of shapes and I've been fooled before. @GeschWhat ... I know you are the queen of poo. Hello Everyone, I was curious about a beautiful small tooth that popped into my sifter near Summerville , SC. My assumption is from the Late Miocene ? Hawthorne Formation. I'm not very versed in mammal teeth quite yet. Is this a canid ... small fox, or wolf ? ... premolar ? These images are scans of the tooth. I have been scanning any information and images that I can find but it looks too small for a wolf and doesn't have the right chewing surfaces. Thanks of course in advance. @Harry Pristis ... maybe you have an idea, I know you are well versed in this area. Cheers, Brett
