I have an interesting question when I read a paper (Hurum, Jørn H.; & Sabath, Karol. Giant theropod dinosaurs from Asia and North America: Skulls of Tarbosaurus bataar and Tyrannosaurus rex compared) I only found that it was mentioned in the content, T.rex had stereoscopic vision(Stereopsis), but I did not find any description of the vision of Tarbosaurus. Does anyone know that Tarbosaurus had stereovision? If Yes or No, please explain the reasons and provide a paper to prove it.Please Thanks guys. have a lovely day

I'll break my trip report to South Dakota into two parts. First will be my visit to the BHI followed by collecting adventure The purpose of going to the BHI was to pick up the Leptoceratops maxilla's I left during my June trip. Pete has been collecting and pulling together specimens to understand and possibly describe this ceratopsid in the Hell Creek. The material he's collected so far appears to be from an adult and is much smaller than L. gracilis. My maxilla's seem to fit the smaller morphotype. In addition, the BHI provided me two sets of replicas of my

Hello, today I am offering a one of a kind 2.54 inch Tarbosaurus bataar tooth from the Nemegt formation in Mongolia. This tooth currently resides in Europe. The tooth has no restoration and only has the tip reattached, aside from that the tooth is completely natural. I am mainly after exceptional theropod teeth but am open to any interesting offers. You really don’t see Tarbosaurus teeth that often anymore so this tooth would make a splendid addition to any collection.

Hi folks, Need some help with this fossil being advertised as a Tarbosaurus claw. Seller says it's from Mongolia (doesn't know formation) and that it is about 1 inch in length. Seller provided no other useful information so my apologies if this isn't very descriptive. If it is from Mongolia I would think that it would be theropod indet? Would appreciate some input on it!

I obtained a 1.5 inch tarbosaurus tooth from a very old collection decades ago. One that had not been prepped since the day it was collected. I decided to finally prep it and wanted to show you all the final product. Very happy. Amazing serrations.

This is a tooth I have purchased, and I was wondering if anyone had any idea on a species for this guy? The seller said it was from Uzbekistan, but the colors are very different from teeth I've seen from that area. Any input or information is greatly appreciated! The tooth is 2.75 inches long.

I need some advice. I was able to obtain a nice 1.5 inch tarbo tooth that had been in a collection for over 15 years. It was obtained from someone who had direct access to the person who collected it in the field. As such, it was never prepped. I have it exactly as they found it w the dirt, matrix and even plant roots. Should I prep it or leave it “au naturale”. I kinda think it’s cool that way.

Potential Tarbosaurus Bones>
BonuFrailman posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hi all, Wanted to know what you guys think about these fossils. Seller claims they are Tarbosaurus fossils from the Nemegt Formation in Mongolia. The seller also claims they were found in 1986, and were placed in a private collection in Japan. I have attached two pictures of each bone.- 3 replies

Dino egg-real or fake?
Aaron Livingston posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello everyone! I’m Aaron and I’m new here. I just purchased an egg online. I then started reading about how many fakes there are and now I’m very worried. Can anyone give me the skinny on whether it’s real or not? It’s coming from Malaysia and claims to have been part of a private Japanese collection prior to the 80s. I appreciate all your input, thanks!- 11 replies

Hello! I am a novice on the forum and in this hobby too. And I have started my collection fossils not so long ago, in fact most interesting examples are on their way to me. But I think that it would be reasonable to make a thread about Moscow Paleontological Museum, because it is one of my favorite and often visited museums in my native city. Not so long ago I visited it once again and made some photos. Mammoth Myxopterus (cast)

So I went to the Black Hills Insitute and I made a lot of photos, so I thought I'd share. The Black Hills Institute museum in Hill City is pretty small, it's just one hall. But this one hall is absolutely packed with stuff. This is also the home of the T. rex Stan. Many of the skeletons are casts, but there are plenty of real fossils here as well. The skeleton of Stan. This is the real skeleton and the real skull is placed beside it in the corner. But I didn't even notice that at the time. Skull of Torosaurus. Notice the holes in the frill. Trice

Hi The previous owner of this specimen claimed that it's from a Tarbosaurus. From looking at the tooth, it does seem to fit the general shape of a Tyrannosaur, the serration count is approximately just a little below 2 per 1 mm. The coloration of the tooth doesn't seem to look like a typical Hell Creek preservation, although I am not certain if this looks like Lance Creek or Judith Rivers kind of preservation or not - haven't seen enough of them to be able to distinguish. So it doesn't seem like a typical Rex or an Albertosaurus nor like a Daspletasaurus (or at least the ones I have seen for
