Found this in the Peace River, FL this week. I think it has enough definitive surfaces to provide an ID but I have not been able to find a good match/comparison. Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated. Measurements: 2 1/4"x 1 1/2" x 1 1/8" 50mm x 45mm x 30mm

Found this little piece a while back, and I'm pretty sure it's a navicular. It looks similar to the equus navicular examples I've seen on the site, but there do appear to be a few differences. The differences might just be due to wear, but I wanted to see if anyone had a different take. Blocks are square inches.

Strange bone from North Florida id help please Mammoth? Mastodon? Carpal? Tarsal?
jikohr posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi Everyone! I recently acquired a bunch of Mammal bones from Florida and I've been going through them hoping to hone my id skills. But I'm still new to this area and would greatly appreciate some confirmation. I think this piece is a carpal/tarsal from a Mammoth or Mastodon. It measures about 3.25 x 2.75 x 1.5 inches and was found in North Florida. What do ya'll think? -
Really stumped with this one, but it has a pretty distinctive shape, so I'm hoping someone with more experience can pretty easily tell what it is. Found it in southeast Texas. --Brandy

I found this fossil on our ranch near Plush Oregon a few weeks ago. It is the 2nd complete bone fossil I have ever found. The first was allegedly a camel cannon bone. I would like to make a post on it later but this one really grabs my attention. The length is 1 3/8" (34.925 mm) and the larger width is 1/2" (12.7 mm) and the smaller width is 3/8" (9.525 mm). I found it in a small dry alkaline lakebed. I have found fragments from there for a long time. People just call them camel bones but there has never been anything identifiable. The last picture is of the fragments you usually find. I found this right before sunset about 3/4's of the way up the old dune that makes up the north edge of the small dry lake. The geological map I got off of the app rockd says it is in a quaternary surficial deposit; pluvial lake valley deposits. 2.588-0ma. I have a friend who knows a little about fossils and he thought it might be a toe bone off of a Mesohippus. I was wondering if anybody has any other guesses? I dont know much about fossils but I am trying to learn! Any thoughts would be welcomed. Thank you

I found the below three bones in the same spot on my last visit to the Peace River. I have not had much luck trying to ID them. Maybe just because they are not preserved enough or whole enough to find a match. I am hoping someone might be able to make an ID based on the photos. I even suspected they may be all somehow related. I would appreciate any input. Thanks. All three together: The largest bone - partial small femur? Second bone - Carpal? Tarsal? Last one - Toe bone?
