Hi guys just wondering if I should save some budget if the Christmas auction was going ahead this year?

Hi friends, One of our younger members, @FossilsAnonymous, is convalescing from a major surgery. He will be in the hospital for another week or so and then will have several months of very limited activity and convalescence at home. I am certain he would love to hear from you in the next month or so! If you would like to contribute some fossil goodies to keep him engaged during his recovery, I am sure he would love that as well. To send a package, please DM me and I'll send FossilsAnonymous' mailing address. -Aaron @WhodamanHD @Gizmo @HoppeHunting @Metopocetus

Well Guys I’m glad to be with such an educated group of people and argue about things like Wether or not this fossil is a cretalamna or otodus tooth . This is the perfect website for anything paleontology, and as we know amateur paleontologists are as important as professionals, for it was an amateur paleontologist who discovered the first claw of baryonyx walkeri

On the latest installation of my eve' posts, we have the second episode of "appreciative announcements". I'm your host, IsaacTFM. *queue jaunty music* This is a happy post, in which I will share my thoughts, experiences, and feelings about this forum. If you're sensitive to - nah, I'm kidding, give it a read! Ah, TFF... A seemingly nerdy place, wherein we talk about... Fossils... I remember the time I found this forum, a year or so ago now. I didn't join, and only read some posts in Fossil ID, in the hopes of shedding some light on my own. It really did help, I can't even lie, I was pointed to a whole host of answers. And yet, I put off making an account. After being in this forum for a month now, I can very, very solidly say, that I regret not joining, and here's why. The Fossil Forum is the best place on the internet. I may have been mocked by my close friends and family after joining, being told that "I'm having all the fun", however, that didn't stop me from spending many hours a day here. My first impressions were a rather intelligent community, filled with lots of people willing to help one another. After posting in other things than F.ID, I've laughed, I've smiled, and I've forgotten the things going on in the outside world. The humour here is rather excellent, and the, perhaps, immaturity of the members (of which I am guilty! ), really fills me with sheer, utter happiness! It makes me feel like a kid again, reading, and learning about dinosaurs, in awe! I've fallen in love with this forum... Even though I may have had some interesting interactions with misspellings and moderative actions on the side of the staff (you know who you are! hahaha, I'm just joking, I love it here), I've had the best time. No-one here frets about political issues which divide and stir up other communities. We don't discriminate, we don't argue. I don't know how many of you have visited a big enough portion of the internet, but, for something being founded on the ideals of sharing and support, there is an INCREDIBLE amount of hate, anger, violence, and just downright horrible things out there. For example, malware. Do we have any of that? No! This is seriously seriously impressive, and, although a lot of it can be attributed to the staff (we love you!), it's also us, the member's responsibility. We exercise care for each other, we take into account each other's feelings. We do what no place in the internet does. We stay positive. We console members going through a tough time, we encourage newbies, we help with identification, we share excitement in each other's finds, et cetera. We love each other. Full stop. This is a great place! I've honestly already had very fun interactions here, and, to be honest, I'd regard you all as my internet friends! This place is awesome, and it's made me so happy recently, it's brought so much sunshine into my life, so to speak. Love you all! (even if you misspell my name or accidentally mute me) I encourage you all to share your favourite experiences with this forum in the replies! Let's show the community how much we appreciate each other, and give us all some happiness in these trying times.

I was inspired by TFF’s own @Kane to make this. His comment on a previous thread made me laugh so hard and I knew I needed it for my fossil room. I did a back stitch on a mounted cross stitch canvas frame. The frame is 6x6 inches. It’s simple, and not my best work, but it was fun and only took a couple of hours. I swear I spent more time doing measurements than actually stitching. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Hello all! It has been exactly one year since I joined this amazing, amazing forum! It has been great and I've learned so, so much! My collection has grown so much through the past year and I've talked and met with many, many great people through here. Still haven't found any good condition megs yet, but have many quality fossils. Thanks for your hospitality Fossil Forum, and I hope to be here for many more years. -Tyler

Although it may not yet even be Halloween, it’s time to start organizing The Fossil Forum Secret Santa. I’ve returned from a few busy and crazy months away from the forum to host this again. Seeing the popular request for it, I couldn’t let this not be a tradition. Please be sure to read all instructions and follow the rules to make it easy on me Here's how it works: Anyone who would like to participate must comment in this thread. All you have to include in the comment is wether you are willing to ship internationally, or US only. You must also create a Private message to me with your name and address, as well as if you would like to ship internationally or only in the US. Please Keep the fossils you are sending at a value of about $30 I highly encourage sending self collected fossils (if you have those available, for these seem to be more likely provide people with something they don't all ready have) I think everyone would enjoy having their packages arrive before the holidays, so you will have until November 25th to respond to this topic, and message us your address. You should plan to ship your fossils the following week. Once you receive you package, please post the contents here so everyone can see but keep in mind, it is a SECRET Santa

Yesterday a group of TFF members got together in Bowling Green Florida for a canoe and kayak trip down a section of Peace and to do a little hunting along the way. At 7 am I was greeted by quite a few folks I’ve had the chance to hunt with over the last few years. I generally do a lot more talking and less digging on these opportunities but was insistent on trying to pull a really nice piece out and knew I’d have to put in some real time hunting. Due to that, I didn’t get any “ in situ” shots of our fossil hunting brethren so you’ll just have to take my word for a that while it was a little cool in the water, we all spent a fair bit of time putting in some serious digging. No one pulled out a whole mammoth tooth but there were some decent Megs found and other odds and ends. Attached is a pic of my better finds. A decent Meg, a few hemis, chunk of mammoth tooth, deer antler with skull and some rare for me mayumbensis I would like to say thank you for all the folks that made it out yesterday, as always it was great to get out with you all. Feel free to throw up some pics if so inclined @Sacha @Grimlock@Calvin Jenkins @beachbum @megaholic@Cam28
