Spinosaurus toe bone real ?
Brevicolis posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, i have this toe bone labeled as spinosaurus in my collection. But it seems kinda suspicious to me. Theres definitly real bone that matches the form, but some areas look like plaster or still covered whith a layer of matrix. Is it real and bad preserverd, 50/50, or a complete fake ? And is it even Spinosaurus ? Because Spinosaurus toe bones are very flat compared to this one. -

I saw this Spinosaurus toe for sale today and wondered how much of it is reconstructed. It was found in the Kemkem formation , morocco From the cretaceous period . -
This is being sold as a Thescelosaurus toe. I'm having doubts as I've never seen a Thescelosaurus claw this curved, most are far more flat on the ventral side. Any opinions? From Hell Creek formation, Jordan, Montana. Size 10cm / 3.9"

Hello all, Looking for help in identification of this fossil, looks like a toe, but from what. Was found in south central Nebraska loose on a river bank. There is some 4x4 traffic through the area so I suspect driven over and freshly broken. Sucks but it in interesting to see the interior of the fossil. TX, Jim

Just purchased this Edmontosaurus ungual and would like to know if it's indeed a toe ungual as advertised or a hand ungual? Considering the small size of 1.75" (length) x 1.5" (wide) is it correct I might assume it's from a juvenile Edmontosaurus? Location: Hell Creek Fm., Powder River Co. Montana

Hi all, I think this toe bone from the Hell Creek in South Dakota has to either be a digit 2 phalanx 2 from a dromaeosaurid or it's probably not even dinosaurian. Please give me your thoughts. Thanks!!

Can anyone ID this tooth? It was found on a creek bed which had tumbled onto a formation of blue-clay. I had to remove a small portion of one end to verify its content. It was found in SW, MS on 04-08-23. Other findings include unknown type of rib bones, horse teeth, tapir teeth, and cow skull (questionable).

Hi! I am an new member. I have been collection for awhile and just started on buying more valuable pieces. A friend adviced me to check this Pachy toe on the forum. The main question is: is it an composit or - as the seller told me - associated? Background information: - Found in Garfield County (near the city of Jordan), Montana by the landowner. - The bones were found in the same hillside (spilling down a little wash). No other Pachy material was found nearby In one picture I the small toe bone is removed (maybe this is the mix-up). Hope you can help! Thanks in advance! Best Regards, Mike Jolink (mikejk_fossils on Instagram)

Is it real? Struthiomimus center toe w/ claw & digits
connorghabra posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Hello, I was about to purchase this Struthiomimus specimen for my mother but I happened to come across this forum so I decided to make an account and post to see if you guys would be willing to offer any insight about the authenticity of these Struthiomimus claw & toe bones. The seller said he got the parts for this specimen from his friend that he has collected with before. He has plenty of testimonies going years back. Apparently the parts were all found within 10 miles of each other in Wilbaux County, Montana. -
Love to hear your comments. Some of green apple jadeite and others test as if white sapphire. Black test as if also corundum

I believe i have found a fossilized toe/finger, you can see in the cross section of what looks to be exactly what you'd expect if you cut a finger off.. You can see the meat of the finger with the bone in the center but you can also see the density/thickness of the bone as well as the bone marrow.. We found it in the Willamette River years ago and thought it was quartz or something until a friend pointed out the resemblance of a finger.. What do you guys think?

Hello all. New here, but hoping maybe someone could help confirm if my guesses are correct or if I'm way off. I found this south east of Drumheller, AB around the Red Deer river. From my Googling efforts, I'm thinking this might be a toe bone from an ornithomimid? I believe ornithomimus and struthiomimus are both found in this area, so this is my best guess. Sorry, my cell phone camera quality isn't the greatest. I could also be way off, and maybe this isn't even a dinosaur at all haha. Thanks in advance!

When I picked this up I thought it very reminiscent of a mammoth toe bone. It is covered with what looks like a sandstone crust, the piece is very heavy, not at all like any sandstone I have ever come across. Any ideas? Thanks for any info you may have.

Hey all, What do you think of this toe bone from Hell Creek? The seller marked it as Saurornithelestes with a "?" at the end. It's a tiny 0.5". What I thought might be diagnostic about it is the proximal end. I believe it has Toe 2 Digit 2 characteristics. But it also looks like the flatter top part of the proximal end (bottom part in this picture) may just be worn down or something--it doesn't look totally smooth. If you think there's anything to the Toe 2 Digit 2 hypothesis, then I assume it's theropod indet rather than Saurornithelestes--or is there a case for young Acheroraptor? For all I know, you'll think the proximal end simply has wear to it and it's not even from an animal with a sickle claw. Thanks,

While looking through my Lance Formation matrix, I'd found this strange bone that looks like it might be a toe bone. Here are the pictures. The scale is in millimeters and the specimen is from Weston county, Wyoming. Thanks for any help.
