  1. Hello, can someone tell if the root is original ? I had this tooth for quite a while and I'm still not 100 percent sure if its added or not. Thanks ! Kem Kem beds, Morocco. Sice: 8 cm.
  2. Hello everyone! I’m here looking for some advice on this tooth. The dealer says it is an allosaurid tooth from Morrison formation and there is no restoration of any kind. I’m not sure but the cracks on the tooth look suspicious as it seems that the tip is glued back on. May I please have your opinions on this one? Many thanks!
  3. Hello, i have a titanosaurid tooth from a still undescribed species, whith a long root. Does somebody have a picture of a fully rooted one ? Because i dont know what titanosaurid roots look like, and i think, theres something wrong about mine. If a picture will be posted here, and the root looks completly unusual, i'll open a topic in the "Fake" subforum.

  5. Hello everyone, another ID-question. We found this at the southern side of the Danish island of Møn, right next in the area of neolithic settlement. I have a hard time identifying this particular part of a tooth/fossilized set of teeth. As we are staying here for our holidays, I have no other scale with me. Any idea, of what we found here, would be greatly appreciated. Best wishes, Jens
  6. Hello, i saw this big Spinosaurus tooth on auction today and wondered, If the root is real and not a composed one. Obviously, a crack was filled, but thats OK for me, and everything else looks fine to me. The tooth Matches also whith the rooted one, seen in Troodon's guide. So would it be worth trying to get it, or should i stay far away from it ? Found in : Kemkem beds, morocco Sice : 12 cm
  7. EDIT: Likely just a weird concretion or weathered chunk of rock. 😬Thanks all for the clarification. Hi all - while looking for Cretaceous fossils, I found some interesting chunks of what I thought might be bone of some kind amongst the piles of white limestone. When I cleaned them up at home, they started to look more and more like a very worn mammoth molar and some other fragments. Can anyone confirm the ID or offer any other info/ideas? Thanks! Human tooth ?(!)

Hello, i have this misterious tooth in my collection. It looks very much like a human one, but is it really one ? It seems to be (hopefully!) really old, not fully mineralized, but old. It has some dark, hard material attached to the sandet down crown, which migth formed during lifetime maybe ? I hope its really old, because most human material=trouble. How old do you think it is and from which species it is ? Let me know ! I found it on the beach of Hejlsminde, Denmark. Sice : 2cm in length, crown measures around 0.7 cm in length, 0.7cm in thickness too, and the base measures 1.3cm in length, and 0.1cm in thickness at the very bottom.

    Mosasaurs Oued Zem

Hey all, I bought this tooth years ago before I really got into fossil hunting myself but never actually got it to an ID. The label says it came from Oued Zem and the matrix seems to fit. There seem to be some repaired fractures. I have no experience with mosasaur teeth and researching a bit has only got me more confused regarding the ID. My (rather uneducated) attempt: there seems to be a curvature towards on mesiodistal plane pointing towards Mosasaurs. It has no serrations, but there are facets on it. Mosasaurus beaugei? Looking forward to your thoughts! Oh length of the crown is 5cm.
  10. Hello, i saw this Megalodon tooth for sale today. The description says, its really heavy, but the seller doesnt know, If its real or not. So i basicly ask for two people. Its not known where it was found, but i think its real, the form matches, it has stripes and serrations. So what do you think about it ?

    Half Moon Bay (California) Fossil

Found this tooth coming out of a cliff in Half Moon Bay, about 2 inches in length and 1 1/2 inch wide. For its size, pretty heavy. U shaped indentations on one end.

    Dolphin Tooth

Below is a dolphin tooth being sold as that of a Goniodelphis hudsoni, from the Peace River Formation in Florida. The tooth does not look like that of a Goniodelphis, however, as they appear to much more rounded. I personally suspect it's from Delphinodon, given that I have seen some similar teeth identified as such on other ID threads on the forum, but I can't say for sure. I must once again call upon your wisdom, @Shellseeker, and I believe @Boesse is also something of a cetacean expert. I'm yet to purchase the tooth, so I haven't got many pictures at my disposal. Thanks in advance for any guidance Othniel
  14. Please help me ID this fossil I found in my backyard in Tarrant County, Texas. I was digging a new flower bed. It was found 6-8" deep. It's 1.5 inches long. Grateful for any help you can give me in ID'ing it!

    Spino or Croc tooth ?

Hello, i have this tooth labeled as Elosuchus from morocco. But i am not sure if its really one, could this be Spinosaurus too ? It has clear visible stirrations, but no carina. The cross section is circular. The tip has also an interesting shape, could this be the result of permanent use ? It was found in the Kemkem beds, morocco.

    NSR teeth?

I'm guessing that these are fragments of a mammoth tooth, found on the NSR. It could be some other large animal, but the ridges make me thing Mammoth. Can anyone verify that?

    Mammoth?

Here is another item I believe is a mammoth tooth. Origin is unknown, I found it being used as a doorstop in my friends house. He collected all over LA, AR, TX and OK but I'm not even sure that he actually found this. It may have been given to him. I have a mammoth jawbone with teeth and this looks remarkably similar, except this specimen is smaller. I'm not sure if it is something else, or the teeth I have are larger due to placement in mouth. Thoughts anyone?

    dinosaur tooth

The last item for show and tell today, where I show, and you guys educate me. I can't tell you how much your information is appreciated. I've learned so much about items I've had for years, as well as new additions that were bequeathed to me. It's really nice to know more about these items. This item was found in a sand pit in the north Canadian River in eastern OKC. A rock crusher stopped working when this item got lodged in it. I realize there is not a lot here for identification, but you guys seem to be able to ferret out what things are from very little information. Hopefully the double row of teeth so close together will help. I received this from the owner of the quarry, and I am NOT the one that one that put the sealant on it. it's very dense, so there wasn't much reason to do that. Not sure why it was done.

    Mammoth?

I received these from my friend who passed last year. I am not sure where he found this. It was in a case with all North Sulphur River items, but these do not have the density/hardness of items I have found from there. They are very flaky. I think these might have come from Montgomery LA, but anyone's guess is as good as mine. I think they belong to a mammoth, they were separate in the case, and they do not appear to exactly line up to make a single tooth, one is slightly larger than the other. Anyone care to comment?
  20. Hello All! Was wondering if this is a possible Liopleurodon tooth? It is from the Orton Brick Pit, a site known for marine fossils dating back 150 million years to the Jurassic period, now a private site closed to the public due to conservation. Tooth measures approximately 2 inches, pictures attached below

What is this fossil tooth found online?

Hello all! Here I am with yet another question the same as all the other ones I ask. “What is this fossil tooth?” I found it online. I believe it to be a theropod, but can anyone officially identify it? It was found in Hell Creek, if that helps. If I can find out in the next 3 days that would be great, as that is when it is going.

    Ice age TOOTH ID

Hello all, Can someone please tell me what animal this tooth belonged to? 4 centimeters - around 1.6 inches Found on the beach: Zandmotor, The Netherlands. Thank you!
  23. Hi I bought this piece, do you think it is a replica or genuine? I am sure that it was stabilized with epoxy but rather than that I seems very detailed. It's very heavy and rock hard. I has told it was found in Poland. I am a new user, I hope this is the right section. Thanks everyone !

  25. I found this tooth on private property in the Lance Formation, and I wanted to know what y’all think. Dr. Bakker told me ceratopsian (Lepto if I remember correctly). He said it was one of the teeth oriented toward the front of the mouth. I’m inclined to believe him, but has anyone else seen this before?
