Anyone know what type of tooth this is? I am thinking dugong but not sure. Found near a phosphate mine in FL.

Can anybody tell me what this is? I have my idea, but no where near confident about it. I found this in N AZ about 30 min from the Chinle formation. I cleaned some sediment off, but not a lot of cleaning done.

Found it in a park by a creek inside a little cave. It's all black, feels rather light and has a strange texture.

I dont know what this is. A shiny phosphate pebble or a piece of a fairly large size tooth Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. As stated in the tags, found in the Peace River, Florida.

Recently I took a trip up to central New Jersey in the US with my sister for our 2nd trip fossil hunting; at a place called “big brook preserve”. As I was sifting through looking at some fossils that I could identify such as shark teeth and fossilized poop with my very basic studying from the Internet and stuff I’ve seen on tv. She calls me over at something she had found while sifting through the dirt in the brook. Thinking that I’d be able to identify it for her I was stumped. it looks like it has characteristics of a fossil from what I think but with my limited knowledge and understanding I keep going back to the idea of “nah it can’t be” And thinking it’s just a cool rock. Either way the water seemed to do a number on this this find eroding it over the years. Also the finds in this brook are usually Cretaceous period specimens and the occasional dinosaur fossil is rare, and reptile fossils are a tiny bit rare too here I think. I have a couple pictures that I took that night when we returned home. I’ll take better lit pictures if these aren’t adequate enough, but the main question I have that’s been bothering me is; is it a rock or a fossil from something once living? Side note the front is slightly smoothed/curved and the back is mostly flat. Please and thank you to anyone willing to help. I’ve also taken the time since then to email 2 local universities for assistance too if that’s even possible.

I was told this could be from Sawfish, but it's oval shape is different from the other teeth I have found that I believe are Sawfish.

Good Afternoon! Came across this rock yesterday, looks like a tooth to me, but I'm no expert. Went out during the storm yesterday and got some great points, tools and some coral as well. In the same area I come across mostly those bottle cap shells, coral and oyster fossils. Found in Austin, TX down near the pleasant valley bridge on the east side. Thanks for the help!

Hey this little thing is driving me bonkers, most times I’m close to ball parking what some thing is but this I have no idea. Is it just sediment ? It’s ivory white on the outside with a chocolate brown inner layer and a light brown swirl at the center.

It seems that the "tooth" is made of some kind of agate or quartz in a matrix of limestone. Can anyone identify? Found in Columbia Missouri near the Hinkson Creek south of town.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help identifying this find from the Peace River in Florida. It’s about 3 cm, and relatively conical in shape, with a slight curve to it. I’m curious if this is some sort of tooth, possibly crocodilian? I’m pretty new to the hobby, so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Visited the Peace River Wednesday and found the water depth and flow down enough to allow for an easy upriver paddle and good digging. If it wasn't for my new wetsuit I wouldn't have lasted long with the air temps in the upper 50's to low 60's! Found a nice 1.25" Meg and same size Hemi, several Mammoth teeth frags, couple of horse teeth and misc shark. The two specimens pictured here are ones I need help with on an ID. The first is what I think is a partial Peccary canine from several pictures observed on this site and others. The second appears to me to be a claw or claw core. I wasn't able to find a good comparison photo for that one. Any help with an ID is appreciated.

Cannot remember how long ago I found this but it has been in my shark tooth collection for years assuming it was a shark molar of some sort but now that I am a little knowledgeable I know sharks do not have molars. Have not been able to find anything that looks similar online. Any suggestions would be great. thanks!

Two additional finds from the Peace River this week. The first I believe to be a Tilly Bone/Fish Ballast. But looking closer once I got it home, I thought it had the look of enamel. I also noticed striations that appeared to circle the specimen. That said I hope someone here can give me an ID. The second item is what I believe to be a small vertebrate. Any input on this would also be appreciated.

I recently bought a mixed lot of fossils and this was included and was wondering if anyone could help with identifying it possibly. If it’s even a fossil, maybe some kind of tooth or? just not sure at all about it, I sadly have no idea of origin either and was unable to get any more info. Just hoping it’s not anything too strange . Thanks in advance!

Hi All- I found these along a beach in California...any ideas what they might be? They look different than the whalebone fossils that I've found. The larger one weighs about 7 pounds and I'm wondering if the thin lines might be Schreger lines? (I'd rather not cut the specimen to see if a chevron pattern shows inside) Thanks! Cena

Hi, I don’t know anything about fossils, but I recently found this while digging at the farm where I work. It was 6 inches or so below the soil surface. It is very hard and light, but the upper edge chipped/crumbled a bit when I washed it off. I assume it’s a tooth, but can’t find any matching photos on the internet. Does anyone know what it might be? Thanks!
