So I found this (left) today on the beach. I’m kind of disgusted because it sure looks like a human tooth to me lol...but I wanted to make sure before I throw this thing out. the one on the right I also found today...and I put it in the picture just to feel a little less gross about todays adventure in the event that the one on the left is, in fact, a human tooth. Lol. Thanks in advance!

Hello all, I found this item while searching for shark’s teeth post-hurricane Dorian in Surf City, NC. I am not sure at all what it is (if anything of interest at all), but it is pretty cool. It appears to have pieces of clear glass or crystal imbedded all throughout and when I found it it had a small strand of thread wrapped around it (it ended up falling off in my pocket, although you can see what is left of the thread in the profile picture attached about half way down the item). My first thought is that it almost looks like rusted metal. I’m certainly no expert in arrowheads, but it does appear to have a similar shape. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Found that tooth at the Topsail Beach in North Carolina while searching for shark teeth. I´m not really sure if it´s a Meg or something else. Hope someone can identify that tooth for me. Unfortunatly it´s not complete. Thanks for helping out!

I found this on Topsail Island the other day. I know some people have found horse teeth on the beach so curious if this is a broken one. Looks like a molar.

Hello all, I live on the coast of North Carolina, a town called Surf City on Topsail Island. Hunting for shark’s teeth is a huge hobby I’ve taken up...but I’m struggling with the ones pictured here. The one in the middle, I’m about 99% sure it’s not a tooth (but the shape and bi-coloration have led me to hang on to it for a while now) I’d like to think I found a great white tooth fossil (left), but it seems too small (at slightly over 1 inch). any help ID’ing these would be awesome. If the middle one is a rock, I can finally part with it! Thanks in advance!

Hello all! I recently moved from Pennsylvania, to Surf City, North Carolina. I've heard shark's teeth are pretty common around here, but I have not been able to find one...until possibly now? I was walking in ankle deep ocean water today and stumbled across this. It sure looks like a tooth...but I couldn't find anything online that would solidly help me identify if this belonged to a shark at one point. Now I'm starting to think it's just a convincing rock. Can anyone help me determine if this is a fossilized tooth or just a clever rock? If it is a tooth, what kind of a animal did it come from? Sorry the pictures aren't the best...the darn sun makes it hard! The top of it (gum?) appears different from "toothy" portion, which has several vertical lines traveling down it...if that helps! Thanks in advance!

Hi! Happy to become a member and hear about everyone's treasures. I am currently in transition in that I will eventually be moving to Wilmington, NC permanently in two years but currently just spend the summers here. My friends back in Williamsburg got me started shark tooth hunting in the James River. It was quite fun and many an afternoon was spent trolling the banks. Now that I am here in Wilmington I'll be heading to Topsail as I hear it has treasures to be found.

Newbie.. beach combing on north Topsail Beach, NC collecting fossils, shark teeth, beach glass and shells.. and we found this. It doesn't look like a shark's tooth to me but it looks like a tooth of some sort. We kept thinking "what could a shark (a BIG one) have eaten that would have had this tooth - but it doesn't look like whale bone either. Any ideas would be awesome! 5cm height 3.2 cm at it's wide point 4 cm long Thanks! PS: I just attached some of the other shark teeth, and "beach treasures" we found to compare size.
