Can anyone tell me what this is? I was hunting for shark teeth and found this fossil among broken shells about half way between low tide and high tide line.

Topsail Beach Got Me Hooked…Heading to MD for More

Hi everyone. My name is Ben and I live in western PA. I’ve been vacationing with my family at Topsail, NC for the last four summers and have developed a real interest in searching for fossilized shark teeth, particularly after the haul I had two summers ago (pic attached). I joined this site to learn more and specifically to ask for guidance on Calvert Cliffs. I’m planning a day trip to the area this Sunday to search for shark teeth. I’ve done a lot of google searching on the best beach to go to, and I was leaning toward Matoaka cabins, but I really wanted to get the guidance of the group here on the best place to go this Sunday.- 11 replies

Hello everyone. I’m new to the group and my family spent the last week in North Carolina at North Topsail. Very beginner so we have no idea what we have found or have, except we know a few are shark teeth. I’ll share them all in a post soon. Thank you

New to the forum and having fun searching for fossil teeth at beaches. Went to Topsail beach, NC a week ago and found these (pics attached). They look like teeth but do not resemble any that I've seen in pdfs or pictures of fossils expected in NC. They vary in size and directional angle. The "top" of the teeth have mostly a rounded surface and the "underside" have angular cavities. I'd appreciate any thoughts on what they are. Even if they are nothing special, I had fun doing the search and will continue to do so!

Hello all! I found this along Topsail Beach in Surf City, NC. Definitely not like any tooth I’ve picked up before and was hoping for some help identifying. If I need to get better pics let me and I’ll try again! Thanks so much for looking!

My dad's friend found this in North Carolina recently, and he needs some help identifying it. I'm pretty sure it's not a Meg, but it might be a Dusky or a Mako.

Found that tooth at the Topsail Beach in North Carolina while searching for shark teeth. I´m not really sure if it´s a Meg or something else. Hope someone can identify that tooth for me. Unfortunatly it´s not complete. Thanks for helping out!

Found this while hunting shark teeth today. It seems like a joint of some sort but the question is, of what?

Found this on the beach today. I know some folks have found horse teeth so maybe this part of a horse jaw?

Hey guys! I found this today and I'm pretty sure it's a fossilized shark's tooth. If it is, is anyone able to take a guess as to what t belonged to? I'll include some pics of my other finds today too. (The bigger one is the one in question. Actually, they all are, but I care more about the big one )

Pretty excited to have found this today!

I found this and thought it was part of a scallop until I looked inside. It looks similar to the inside of a fossilized sand dollar. What is it??? I know the one photo attempting to show the inside is blurry but it's the best I could do.
