Hi, I found this fossil at Topsail Island over the weekend. Is this possibly a sloth bone?

For whatever reason, I find these as interesting as a pristine specimen. Perhaps because the tooth was actually used, like stamp collectors like cancellation marks? How about you? Do you have any interesting photos of feeding damaged teeth (of any species) to share?

My wife found this piece of jaw bone on the beach while on vacation last month at Topsail Island, NC. At first I thought it belonged to a shark, but upon closer examination, the tooth doesn't resemble any of the hundreds of shark teeth I have found in the past. Any help identifying this fossil would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Found this at Topsail Island, NC. Any ideas what type of shark this was from? It is about 1.5-1.75 inches in length

So we recently had a family vacation to Topsail Island NC. We found lots of teeth, 2 small megs, and several larger bones (as well as my first bitten bone). I honestly have no idea what these might be and was hoping someone could tell me! They are all generally the same shape and size (about 1 inch long), and they are very thin.

I just spent a week at North Topsail Beach in North Carolina and had never found a single shark's tooth in my life before this trip. My daughter's boyfriend found a tooth and showed me what to look for. I ended up finding about 100 teeth before the week was out. Anyway, among my finds were several large shark's teeth and one that looks to be a molar of some sorts. I'm hoping you guys can help identify these for me. Here are pics of the molar...

I have been in possession of this "rock" for a while, so I can't be positive where it was found, but it was either the Neuse River banks in Pamlico County, NC or the Topsail Island (Surf City, NC) beach. I'm leaning toward Topsail. It's shape suggests another fossil (whale ear bones??) but the structure/pattern (close-ups) in the fossil looks like it should be a coral. Any input appreciated.

This item came from some sediment from the recent offshore dredging at Topsail Island, North Carolina. The sediment is early Oligocene River Bend Formation. Being that it is pumped onto the beach and does mix with recent items, this could be recent, but I don't think it is. It is 2.78 mm X 2.40 mm. And I am clueless as to it's identity. Any and all thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated. Found in this sediment; along with other things including Echinocymus wilsoni ( an Oligocene micro echinoid) was this tooth, Scoliodon terrnova, showing it is Oligocene, River Bend material.

Hi all! Found this this weekend in Surf City, NC while scouring the beach for shark teeth. I thought it was whale bone, but there is a hole bore through it. Not sur if it is whale bone because of that, and if it is, what in the world would drill through the bone like that. Hole is end to end. Thanks for the help! Diana

This is my first post after finding what looks like either a small megalodon or perhaps a great white shark tooth on Topsail Island, NC. I tried to find the formation, but the map I found just listed the area as being quaternary. Anyway, friends and kids didn't believe that it was a fossil, but certainly looks like one to me. Any help is greatly appreciated.
