I’ve decided to take a break from dissertation writing and write up something else instead, one of the greatest fossil hunts I’ve been on, my trip to the Burgess Shale. Its been a little while since I got to go but here is the story as I remember it. I’ll write this up in a few parts since I took a lot of pictures and I’m going through and editing them as I go. Part 1: Going on an Adventure A little bit of background to start off. When I was younger (around 12 I think) I got the opportunity to go to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington DC.

About a year ago I came across a fossil hunt report in Morocco and fall in love with the trilobites. From another website, I saw picture of Morocco crinoids plate and I just wish I have them. Last week I found a trip in groupon to Morocco for 15 days. Then I find there are many fossil hunting tours in Morocco from 8 to 15 days. I would like to ask if anyone using the tour for fossil hunt? Are they good and if anyone has a favorite tour company to suggest? I am appreciate any information and help. Thanks.

Hello everyone, For my parents 36th wedding anniversary I thought I would surprise them with a fossil hunting vacation as they are both avid fossil enthusiast. I would really like to plan a trip for them somewhere in Alberta or in Ontario but I’m not sure where to send them or how they should go about finding cool fossils. They are not the most competent outdoorsmen so day trips would probably be ideal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated
