Went for a bush walk today and found some beautiful track ways. These tracks and trails are part of the early permian, Ecca group, prince Albert formation. I don't really pay much attention to tracks, but these where just out of this world (for me atleast) and was definitely the find of this extremely hot day. These pictures do not do these fossils justice... Zoom in and enjoy.
Found this, and a ton more, with my daughter over the years. Found this on Lake Michigan, near South Haven - Coldwater Shale Formation/Mississippian/Devonian There are lots of braciopods, from what I can see. Some having an amber looking coating, others having a metallic coating. Can anyone help with this, before I start to polish it (and let me know if I shouldn't). Just something for the group, I was just wondering if any one else would like to see a category dedicated to Trace Fossils? I like looking up info and seeing pictures on different Trace Fossils and find myself opening various topics and really finding what I am looking for. I think it could be something as simple as adding it to the "Collections" section with a category titled "Trace Fossils", and that could include sub-categories for trackways, coprolites, burrows, predation evidence, ripple marks / rain drops, trails, etc., or just lump it all under Trace Fossils.
