My annual information topic on the Tucson Fossil Show. Right now it looks like 43 different shows if you are including Gems, Minerals and Fossils. The latter being the smallest segment of the Show but the coolest . For those of you who went to this years show I don't expect much of a change but we still have a bit of time to go. Unfortunately the show has evolved from from a couple of close venues to now being all over the place. Just take more time and patience with parking. When to arrive: My suggestion is when the dealers open . This will give you the best opportunity

George F. Winters of the Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences (AAPS) just posted this on Facebook. The guide has been very useful to those attending the show. Tucson has yet to put any restrictions on the different fossil venues other than cancelling the Convention Center Gem and Mineral show . If I hear anything will post it. Travel restrictions may be the biggest impediment for dealers to participate and visitors to attend.

My dad happened to be in Tucson during the fossil show and grabbed a neat sliced ammonite in a box simply labeled “made in Madagascar” (he knows I’m a sucker for any fossil that had a geode develop in a cavity). I’d like to know a bit more about it, but the info I’ve been able to find about the ammonites of Madagascar is pretty limited and makes identifying pretty hard. My best guess is Desmoceras sp. can anyone be more specific or correct me?
