  1. Hi all! Im not in America and I think the annual Tucson show is coming up soon. For those who are not able to travel and would still like to maybe have the opportunity to purchase something from there, would like to ask if there is a way for those international potential buyers to do so? As I know they most likely have a lot of variety that some of us just cant get ahold of lol. I know that other communities where an individual may want to get e.g.: a sneaker thats about to 'drop', but since they can't be there in person, they are able to still get a hold of it via a 'personal shopper'? Was just curious if there is such service similar to that available for events like this? Thanks heaps!
  2. The fossil show started yesterday. If you are into minerals, beads and junk lots of opportunity to have fun. However if you are into Fossils especially dinosaurs and shark, as expected, its been very disappointing. Lots of key dealers in these areas are a no show although a couple are around. This is the ballroom at the Tucson City Center Hotel. Empty and not one fossil to be seen. Only one small dealer with Green River teeth and another with Trilobites is the extent of fossils to be had. For the first time since the show moved to this venue parking was not an issue; Only photo I took at this venue The 22nd Street Show was busy with non fossil items Nice Tail

    Tucson Fossil Show News

Saw this on Facebook. Looks like the shows have been moved to april. George Winters posting Hello Dealers: This email is being sent to all dealers of all Tucson Gem Show venues (listed below) that are proceeding with their 2021 events. Myself and all of the other show promoters wanted everyone of you to receive this announcement first, and at the same time, so that everyone has the same correct information. Even though most shows have received their event waivers, it is the case that America’s / Arizona’s increasing infection and hospitalization rates now make the original dates untenable. For that reason, we anticipate that Pima County will rescind all the waivers in the coming days. Therefore, we have decided together to POSTPONE THE TUCSON GEM SHOWCASE BY EXACTLY 10 WEEKS. Any later and the outdoor temperatures would be too high for the tent shows. Any sooner would have straddled Easter (April 4). We considered the following in reaching this difficult decision. · It will require several months to administer 100 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine as well as tens of millions more doses by the soon-to-be-approved second vaccine by Moderna. · Meanwhile, other countries are immunizing their citizens as well. · In addition, experts anticipate that this third wave will subside with the warming spring temperatures. Therefore, we expect April to have a much lower infection rate and as a result, travel restrictions may well be eased and life will start returning to normal. As we stated, you are the first to receive this announcement. Please share this information widely and let your customers know. Many who planned to stay away in late January may now choose to come in mid-April. We look forward to hosting you then! 4. Good morning folks. I have another puzzling fossil requiring identification/verification. This fossil came from the Tucson show in 2008 and was thought to be a fossil insect (wasp) nest. There were seven unlabeled fossils in the group I purchased. I have identified five of them but this is one I need your help with. Sounds like china when it's tapped with a spoon and appears to have a small section of fossil tree branch attached to it. Help!

    dino tracks

Hello everyone. Is there any way to tell what animal left these tracks? One looks like a reptile/amphibian and the other looks like a bird to me. They were purchased in Tucson (Gem/Mineral show) back in the early 2000's without any description other than "dinosaur tracks". Help!

    ID Request Vertebrate

Hello, can anyone tell me which species this vertebrate belongs to? I'm sorry I don't have much information other than it came from the 2009 Tucson Gem & Mineral Show.
