Hi all, I recently returned from spending a few days searching the beach of Tybee Island, Georgia, and found something I am unsure as to what it is. From reading online it looks like the age could be anywhere from Miocene to present. My initial gut is some sort of vertebra. Please let me know if any other photos or information would be helpful. Thank you!

Hello. we went on a fossil trip while in Tybee definitely recommend. I found this piece and I’m stumped. Could be nothing but the curve trenches makes me feel like maybe it’s a tooth but there is no root looking areas on any of the sides (all sides in photos) so probably not a tooth. A girl can dream. let me know if you got any other thoughts .

Found this on the beach in Tybee Island Georgia. Not sure if it’s just a shell or some type of tooth from something. Any ideas.

I found this weird thing on the beach at Tybee, it caught my eye b/c of the pattern. It is quite hard, not what I expect from a piece of bark, and even has a shine to the underside. Is it possible it’s mineralized?

My son found this on the beach on Tybee Island. Sorry about the lack of scale, we’re on vacation and don’t have a ruler with us. Could it be crocodilian?? I’m amazed he saw it.

Hello, I found this fossilized bone on the beach on Tybee Island, GA while looking for shark teeth. It looks like a tiny alligator or snake head but I'm guessing it's not. Any help to ID would be greatly appreciated! The first pic is the top of it, second is it flipped over. Thank you for any help!

Need help identifying this fossil I found while trying to find shark teeth on Tybee Island in Georgia. One photo is in b&w so I could fit both sides on this post.

These are teeth I found on our trip to tybee island for father's day. There are a couple charter companies that will take you out to islands created from where the river is dredged for the container ships. I'm not sure if #2 is actually a tooth or not but I tend not to throw anything back because when I found #6 (last year) it was mostly a clump of clay except for the very top showing. I carried it around like that for about 2 hours as a "good luck charm" then when we were about to leave I rinsed the clay off in the surf and saw the actual tooth portion. The guy that takes us to the island keeps saying it's been picked over and that there's nothing left out there but I found over 40 and my 9 year old daughter found 20. Two months ago we found about the same amount so the only thing I can think is he's saying it so people that don't take their time will be less disappointed.
