Hello, I came across this morocco mosasaur tooth measuring 5.5 cm and wanted to ask whether it seems like Tylosaur? From what I can tell, it has no durophagous adaptations (so not prognathodon), seems to be straight instead of curved towards the tongue/mouth and lacks facets (so not Mosasaurus), and is very tall with a hook-like appearance due to a curvature straight backwards. It looks too tall to be something like Eremiasaurus, but that's just an amateur guess. If not Tylosaur, what could it be?

After taking a little time off from hunting due to a new job and holidays I decided to hit the North Sulphur River with a friend. We had a great day. I love the Tylosaur scapula with shark bites. We found a large Xiphactinus washing out and ended up with one left maxilla and three verts from it. We will go back and check that area again.

Identification: Mosasaur teeth can be difficult to assign to a species. However, given the size of the tooth, it must be from T. proriger - the only Mosasaur in the formation large enough to produce this tooth. Notes: Shows feeding wear (pictured) with mostly complete enamel. Uncommon find for this formation/locality. Identifiers: This identification is supported by Michael J. Polcyn (researcher specializing in the evolution of Mosasaurs) of Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, USA. Citation: COPE, EDWARD D., 1869, Remarks on Holops brevispinus, Ornitho

My man cave is coming along nicely. Most are personal finds from Northeast Texas. A few were gifts or purchases.

I finally got some time off and had a nice day to hike the North Sulphur River Texas. I hit the fossil park which is the most hunted location but I still managed to find some good stuff. The big piece of coprolite is loaded with shells in it. I really like the well preserved Glyptoxoceras heteromorph ammonite and the big Tylosaur vert.

Long nine hour freezing hike in Northeast Texas. The partial mastodon tooth and tylosaur jaw section with replacement tooth were the highlights of my day. I dated the old soda bottle to the 1950's. The artifacts were a nice bonus.

I hit a new spot in Northeast Texas. This area is a mix or cretaceous and pleistocene. The rooted mosasaur tooth and my first croc tooth made my day. Both are super rare for this area. I also found the largest Enchodus jaw I've found since I started hunting four years ago.

Due to the hurricane I got an extra day off from offshore so I hit the North Sulphur River for a few hours. I found a nice big Tylosaur vert, small mosasaur vert, fish ribs, arrowhead and a big Native American chopper tool. The arrowhead is ugly but I like it lol.
