Chenanisaurus Barbaricus Tooth? Or Carch?
Kurufossils posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
Came across this tooth labeled as an abelisaurus belonging to chinanisaurus barbaricus from the Maastrichtian supposedly found in the phosphate mines of the Ouled Abdoun basin. Looks pretty thick to be abelisaurus and comparable to an extent to some carcharodontosaurus teeth. Is there a way tell the difference or will there need to be more specifics involved.

Found this worn down piece in a new jersey cretaceous creek, while I think its a random worn bone piece it does have some very odd parts to it that are interesting, hoping to get some feedback on this one. Will post more pictures soon

I found this strange form in a stone from ordovicium. The size is less than 1 cm, never seen anything like it. Look almost as it is artificial but it is a real fossile. Any one have any idea what it can be? Martin

I was cleaning up a shelf of agates in the garage and came upon this rock looks like it might be bone Have no idea where it is from- I collect in a lot of places 5 cm across I assume #5 is ventral and #4 is a dorsal view 1,2,3 are end on #1 is at the superior aspect of #4 #2 is inferior on #4 #3 is at 5 oclock on #4

Hello all, I recently acquired this unidentified illaenid trilobite from the ordovician of Sweden. It's had some sloppy repair work (which I'm hopeful I can improve) but before I do I'm hoping someone can help me put a genus to it. It has a long, robust genal spine which doesn't seem to match any illaenus I've seen from Sweden. Any help is appreciated.

I have a shell fossil that was found at millcreek on at pipeline trail in Utah. The ridges on the shelves are clearly defined and looks quite different than all the other shell fossils I have. I'm not one hundred percent at the Shell fosil of a bivalve shell. Any further information on this fossil would be great thanks.

found these on a old railroad track looks like teeth , but could be a plant fossil dont know . just sounds cool when people thinks its dinosaur teeth

hi new to the group , hope im doing this correct , i found these in a old gravel railroad track , in new orleans , no telling where the gravel came from there tracks havent been used in 40-50 years

I’m not sure what I have here, my best guess is a portion of tusk or rib. As always, I appreciate everyone’s knowledge and help! I’ve created a light box and started adjusting the exposure to help with quality photos. Thanks

I found this fossil in a silurian site, it has a rusty color and I not know what is it. Anyone have an idea? Size is about 4-5 cm in diameter. Martin

Hey everyone . I found this on my local beach North coast of NSW Australia. I have no idea what it is it's really got me and my friends stumped I can't find anything like it on line anywhere .. it looks like a rock that has been some how encased in shell .. there is also a worm track/ hole on one side going through the shell into the rock if that's what it even is

Hello folks, I've got some items that have been in a box in the back of my closet for quite some time and they are not identified, most a very small. They have been collected over many years at flea markets, yard sales, etc. I know everyone hates posts requesting IDs without any location information, so I'll keep my fingers crossed it's not a busy day... Since my eyesight is not what it used to be, I'm hoping someone here can put a name on them. I have a total of five posts (small lots or two items) needing identification, this is the first.

I like to use my microscopic camera on small stones that I find and on one such stone I found these I can't really tell their size as they were looked at through my microscopic camera but I will say they are extremely tiny....the stone itself is about an inch and a half....I found a few odd little things and am wondering just what they may be? I found the stone in the gravel drive possibly from a load from the Brazos river west of Houston Texas USA.

I was bored, went flipping though sites & came across this rock. They think it's Jasper with some Quartz other than that they have no idea what it is. No information as to where it's from, other than a estate sale. The rock is big, What is this rock ?

Hello Sorry to say but i dont have experience in fossiles. Anyone able to identify these have all my thanks. I live in a mining town in Serbia. I was hiking and i stumbled upon a strange stone. It was the bottom one. I took a look around soon i found two more, the one above it and the one to the right. Those 3 pieces were the outer layer that fell of from the one on the left. The one on the top is different from all. Not far from there i found two more. The left one On this picture it reminds me of a big pepper cut in half since it has that coloring all the way around but inner. The structure is similar to the left one on the previous picture. The right one On this picture on the top there is a hole like change of materia. On the other two picture there can be seen some lines on it.

Hi all! I recently purchased this dinosaur bone from an estate sale in Maryland USA. I think it looks like a vertebrae, but I’m not sure if I’m right. Does anyone know what it is, or even what it came from? It weighs 1.475lbs and was labeled from the Jurassic period (although the person that labeled it is a gemologist, not a geologist so it was his best guess after researching). The tape measurer pictured is in inches, I could not find one with centimeters. Thanks for any help!!!

I found these teeth years ago on Kure Beach, NC. They are pretty worn so I know an ID may be tough if not impossible. Please let me know if I need to provide any closer images and/or any additional information. I’ll number these 1-5 from left to right to make it easier to discuss the individual teeth.

I am currently going through some of the fossils I bought when I was a kid. The fossils I am looking to potentially have ID’d are a few fish fossils that I bought from a couple museum gift shops. For this reason, I do not have much info on them which I realize could hurt my chances of getting them ID’d. I thought I would give it a shot and see if anyone recognized these fish. 1. Hello all. Found this oddity in a small piece of shale, adjacent to the northern branch of Smoke Creek. I believe this is Windom Shale, Hamilton Group, Middle Devonian. It reminds me of something, but I can't place it. Any ideas are welcome. Pelecypod was my first impression, but ... ? EDIT: to add size. 6 mm in length.
