Hello, This is another old collection piece without provenance, and I was hoping someone could tell me if they recognize anything or guess its age. It's a plate of bryozoans, but I think I see a couple starfish peeking out from underneath.

Hello , I have this Basilosaurus tooth in my collection and found today something very interesting in the surrounding matrix : a tooth ! But from what ? I've prepped it a little bit to have a better Look at it . Can someone identify it maybe ?

I brought out a bag of Devonian brachiopods from the Cerro Gordo to clean up this week when I noticed this unknown in amongst the shells. At first I thought geologic but if you look close, it appears to have six sided symmetry. So is this some sort of echinoderm??

@CabinetOfCuriosities recently posted a Devonian bone for identification. Having just read the post, I headed downstairs and split open a piece of matrix from the fish layer of the upper Burlington, lower Keokuk Formation and a boney looking fossil presented itself. What a coincidence! It vaguely mimics turtle remains I have found in Florida. Thoughts of what this is are welcomed!!!!!! By the way, the size is 2.5 by 2.0 cm.

Here is another black mass that emerged from the light colored matrix of the Burlington Formation. Pareidolia has me envisioning a tooth with the enamel peeled away on top and side projections. If it wasn't so fragile, I would prep around the other side. This measures just under 2 cm.

Set out yesterday morning to dig up seedling blue bonnets in area by a gulley I hunt, haven't been there for a year so thought I'd check it out before it started raining. I think this is an outcrop of Britton formation, Eagle Ford. Didn't get far before it started raining so basically filled my bag with globs of clay for most part then proceeded to clog up bathtub washing it all off. Pretty happy with results, wish I could find whole ammonites the preservation is so good, was tickled with two Inoceramus that had some shell. So mystery #1, I'm stumped and afraid to chip at any more not knowing the rest of shape. #2, not sure if the piece of shell is related, looks an awful lot like a ptychodus tooth but I'm sure it's something boring Threw in last one just curious what it could be.

Hello all, These are some fossils I have found during my previous expeditions to the Peace River. I have provided details on what I think two of them could be. Confirmation or correction of the IDs would be appreciated! Fossil #1: I believe this fossil to be a portion of a scapula. I have included the image on the left of a partial woolly rhino scapula (https://www.online fossil retailer.com/fossils/woolly-rhinoceros-scapula-bone-partial-late-pleistocene) as a visual comparison for the fossil on the right. Again, just a visual reference. I am not sure about the species. Are there any diagnostic features that could indicate what it could be? I have also annotated the images with the blue arrow pointing to the glenoid cavity and the red circle indicating the location of the supraglenoid tubercle (which I believe is missing from my specimen). Again, this is assuming that it is a partial scapula, which it may not be. Fossil #2: I believe this one could be a partial pelvic bone (specifically a portion of the acetabulum). Are there any features that could help identify the species? Fossil #3: I am not sure what this one is, so any identification assistance would be appreciated. Back View Front View Bottom View Top View Right View Left View ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Any assistance is appreciated. Also, I would like to apologize in advance if I have incorrectly used any of the anatomical terms. I'm still trying to learn some of the vocabulary. Thanks again and Happy Fossiling

My grandmother was a world traveler before she died and purchased this in Indonesia (I think) sometime in the 90's and 00's. She knew I was interested in fossils, but they did not come with any information. I can't even be sure its from Indonesia. Its a little over 1 inch (2.54 cm) square. I can only assume this was common in the tourist/fossil trade at that time, so I'm hoping someone here will know what it is.

Here's another purchase from my grandmother from the 90's and 00's from Indonesia, I think. No information, its maximum length is about 2.5 inches, (6.35 cm).

Not sure if this is the correct venue.but I am interested as to what this could be. Central TX. Among landscape rocks first I thought it was petrified wood -
Good evening folks, I have two interesting pieces I’m asking help identifying. The first piece is from an unknown location. It weighs 8.7 ounces and measures approximately 3 1/2 x 2 1/2 x 1 3/4” +/-. This looks like a bone of some type to me, it has some agatized features, it kind of looks like pink stick/needle agate in the translucent section. It is porous , however, not light for its size. That’s all the information I have regarding that piece. The second piece is from Estill County, Kentucky. One a recent rockhound trip we discovered it off middlefork in a stream. The piece weighs 3.8 ounces and measures approximately 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/8” +/-. It too has some translucent qualities, I would say it’s partially agatized as well. The piece is gray/black in color and looks almost as if that translucent areas are scales, I may be off on that. That’s all the information on that piece. I appreciate your time in advance and I look forward to any information provided, Mike

Hello, I am new to this forum so I hope I'm doing this correctly. I inherited a very large collection of rocks, gemstones, and what I've been told is petrified wood. I see there's a lot of experts on here and any help will be greatly appreciated. I live in Las Vegas, NV and My Father collected literally hundreds of all types of rocks etc... Thank You!!
