The Photos attached are the last of the 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has also been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I like this fossil a lot, as you can see the exposed bottom of the fossil, as well as the exposed side of the fossil, with the rest trapped in the rock. Any thoughts on what creature this could be? Perhaps a muscle or large barnacle?

This is number 4 of 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. The pictures don’t show it terribly well, but the flat base of this fossil/rock appears to be a large coral like shape that looks like it was circular shape but has been slightly eroded to give this 2/3 of a circle coral type shape. The material is raised slightly on the grey parts within the white part, and the white part is more depressed in/less raised.

This is number 3 of the 5 fossils I have been unable to identify in the last 2 years. This fossil has been found on the shores of Lake Huron, in the Grey Bruce county area in Ontario, Canada. I am not entirely sure if this even is a fossil, but it’s a unique pattern of holes in this rock that make me think there was biological matter that rotted away leaving many small imprints. Curious to hear your thoughts.

Hi there! My mom bought this fossil a few weeks ago while visiting Quartzsite, AZ, and she lost the card that she had the vendor write the ID on...it looks aquatic to me, and my initial thought was an anemone of some sort, but that's as far as I've gotten and I am by no means an expert sooo ^u^; Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Hey, so my first post is something that I found at the Montour Fossil Pit in the summer of 2022. the piece is interesting as there seems to be a tentacle with suckers on one side. I had a marine biologist friend take a look and he was uncertain. He thought it could be a folded trilobite but he too was intrigued by what looks like suckers on that "tentacle". I do have access to Harvard so I'll take it down there and see what they say.

Hello my 9 year old son loves finding unique rocks, fossils, bones, etc. Can anyone tell me if these are any types of fossils? We’re located in Ruidoso, NM, our property has a lot of sandstone in some areas. Thanks

Formation: Bangor Limestone Age: Mississippian Found this location in a remote area of Alabama recently. I Haven't hunted the Bangor in awhile, so I gave it a shot. A fragmentary calyx. Northern Alabama seems to be teeming with these, as I found 8 others in a nearby locality as well. A complete, but squashed roller of a Kaskia? Fenestrella are found commonly articulated with their fans here. This was the best individual I found. My guess is these are Spyroceras? All of my nautiloids come from the Ordovician, so these are unqiue for me. I'm not certain I know what these are. Could be a bryozoan? Bacterial structure? Steinkern? These are sponges I believe, species unknown. Composita brachiopods: Unknown productids: Next are some new brachiopods I have yet to identify. Oh, and here is a brachiopod with an exposed brachidium. Finally here are some blastoids with weird preservational attributes.

This fossil has many grooves, holes and structures. My only guess is it's a part of a skull of mosasaur or plesiosaur. Any ideas? Or good reference pics of skull parts for comparison? Thanks

Found this rock with something eroding on it but am unsure what it could be and it is not magnetic. Unsure if it's any sort of fossil but any help would be great.

Hello everyone Thanks for looking. I found these yesterday at a Savannah River Dredge Spoil Island after fairly heavy rains and tides. Unfortunately the dredging and river action damages pretty much everything. Most of what is found is Pleistocene to Miocene. These have me stumped. The following are my guesses as to what the following 5 items are: #1 Camel or Horse Canine? Doesn't look like others that I've found or google image searches-Doesn't have a color/texture change from root to crown-Has a ridge on the back side and sharp edge at the end-Looks too symmetrical to be just phosphate #2 Fish Skull Plate? I've seen one of these before but it isn't a ray crushing plate or sea robin skull #3 1/2 of a Mammal Tooth-Doesn't look like a horse tooth from the chewing surface and doesn't have the angled crown of a tapir tooth-May not be able to ID as too fragmentary #4 Broken 1/2 of a Sloth Tooth-Had sea lettuce growing in it and is badly beaten up-Looks like other sloth teeth that I've found there before but has a little rougher interior structure than the others and is not quite as smooth on the exterior #5 Medium sized bone that looks vaguely jaw like-Thick and tapered to a narrower point-beaten up a little-No tooth sockets visible Any ID's or thoughts would be much appreciated Thanks a bunch

Hello, Any idea what these are? I see Olenellid trilobite heads and an ammonite, but no idea wht the others are or where they could be from. They seem like they are from the same locality based on matrix. 1. 2. 3. 4. Looks like some sort of faint arthropod impression? 5. No idea if this is even a fossil

Hi guys! Happy 2023 and wish you all the best One of my Chinese friends just purchased a nice collection, and the seller said it might be from a sinoceratops zhuchengensis but not pretty sure. I tried to help him with that but I don't know much about ceratopsian. So we are now wondering what it really is. We are 100% sure that this collection was found in Shandong province. Hello all, While hunting arrowheads in Valencia County New Mexico, I stumbled across this rock (photo attached). Not sure what to make of it. Am hoping someone might be able to determine whether this is indeed a fossil and, if so, what exactly it might be? Thanks so much in advance.

A post was made a few weeks ago showing the Decorah Shale finds during my last fossil hunt of the year. During that trip, a section of Stewartville/Galena/Ordovician was visited too and I just finished processing my finds. In the bucket were a few unknowns that I am hoping to make known!!! 1. My guess is likely correct for this one. Beekite? I notice on the picture that that a piece of Isotelus trilobite is peeking out in the lower left corner and is probably the reason for the beekite formation. I have searched through Galena countless times and have not run into this before. 2. This one has a distinct ridge running down it and has more subtle ridges running perpendicular to the central ridge. They are difficult to see in the photo. 3. This small almost circular fossil (4mm) has a peculiar ridge down its center. 4. Finally, this "cross" measures 8 mm. It does not appear to have characteristic of a bryozoan on its surface. If it is part of a deeper fossil, I was wanting to know what it was before I explore further with my Dremel.

Hi there, This is my first forum post, I'm UK based in the South West. About 6 months to a year ago I visited Charmouth in Dorset and ended up coming home with this particular rock. I've always wondered if the structures breaking the surface were fossils or instead natural geological features. Any ideas? Thanks
