  4. I went through some of my wife's collection today and came across something that I have no idea on. I'm used to the random bone frags but this looks different to me and I can see why she grabbed it...it looks like a small turtle's head and that what she thought it looked like too when she grabbed it. Please weigh in on this, I'd appreciate any opinions!

Help me identify this shark tooth

I've had this fossil keychain since I was a kid and I'm not sure exactly what species it belongs to. It's 1 1/2 inches long and wide it has serrations and the back is flat. Based on the size and shape I either believe it to be a really small megalodon tooth or a megalodon ancestor from the carcharodon's. But that's just my guess what do you guys think?

Trying to ID this type of fossil

Please forgive me for my fossil ignorance, as I do not know much about them. I am trying to find our what kind of fossil this could be. Or maybe it isn't. I'm not sure. I have looked on the internet for awhile and found nothing really similar to it. If this is easy and I'm just an idiot, I'm sorry haha. Just thought you all could help me here. Thank you

    Any Ideas

Hi I have a tiny collection of things I find on the beach and came across this. Was wondering if it is a fossil? And if so what is it? The same pattern is on the other side as well.

Lower Glen Rose Basal Reef Fossil

Not sure what this is. A gastropod mold or ammonite or just a concretion? I didn't cut it out. Still on the limestone roadside cut.

    some type of vertebrae?

I'm new to fossils, I actually have been finding a bunch of interesting rocks when out metal detecting. I found this one and I'm convinced it's some type of fossil but I'm not sure what it could be? Found in North GA near Rome. I'd estimate the ridges are only 3 inches long and each rib is 1/4''-1/2''

  16. Hey I'm a new member and I need some help with identifying this fossil! I've had this for a few years now but I just found this website and am so curious if someone might know what this is. I found in at a beach in southeastern Florida, and have never seen something like it since. on the other side of it, it looks as though it broke at some point (this is how I found it) I would be so appreciative if someone could tell me what this is!

    Venice Beach Florida 2

I found a number of probable bone fragments near Venice Beach Florida. This one had a little more shape to it, some color variation and a slightly more smooth texture. Can anyone identify it or does it go in the pile of unidentifiable mammal bone fragments? Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Egg looking rock?

Found this on a sandy bank of the St John's river in NE Florida. Thought the interesting cracked "shell" appearance was worth inquiring about. Thanks.

    What are theses things?

I keep finding these things. What are they?
  20. Any ideas as to what this is? I'm a novice. Thought it might be part of a mammoth tooth but the roots-if that's what they are-look kind of distorted and not as uniform as what I've seen. Maybe some sort of trace fossil? Found in a stream bed in N. NJ. Thanks!

    Mystery fossil

I found this in a pebble conglomerate layer of the late Cretaceous near Hovenweep National Monument in Utah. It is protruding from one of the layer's constituent pebbles. I assume the actual age is earlier than Late Cretaceous since the pebbles are seemingly a part of the proto ROCKY mountain progeny.
  24. Hi Everyone, Somewhat new to fossil collecting. I picked this up for 20$ at a flea market, sold to me by a very old man who didn't know anything about it. Is it real? Any help appreciated.
