    What is this (Missouri)?

I found two of these while fossil hunting in a stream bed. West central Missouri. Any ideas?
  2. Unfortunately I've no description for this coral what so ever , only to say its from the UK. Any help from TFF would be great.

    love fossils. can not identify.

I grew up in Washington. Next to Stonerose fossil dig site and showroom. I am now in Arizona and found this among the previous tenants yard litterings and have no clue if rock or fossil, it reminds me of Some fossils I have seen. Clueless tho. Please and thank you to any help with this.
  4. Haven't seen antler like this and was hoping someone knows what animal it might be from? Unlike typical antler I find with convex or flat base, its base is slightly concave. Also at its base are what look like 3 additional points that are likely broken and incomplete. I looked through some books but I couldn't identify it. Any ideas?

    Unknown Fossil from Guatemala

Found a large amount of these up in the mountains in Huehuetenango, Guatemala, near Laguna de Magdalena, approximately 3,200 meters above sea level. Immediately assumed it was a type of coral, especially considering the area was at the bottom of the ocean 300+ million years ago. Does any one have any idea what this is? Is it in fact coral? Any idea what kind, if so?

Can anyone tell me what this is?

Does anyone know what this is? We found it at a abandoned construction site.. it had some sharks teeth inside.. its 7in x 3 in at its widest point. Thanks ! I'm almost thinking it looks like a huge phosphate module? I really have no clue.

    Mystery item

Not sure what this is if anything; maybe just shell, but hopefully not. It was found in a Miocene area. It is 1 1/8" X 1/2". It is 3/16" thick on one end. Thanks.
  8. Hi. I am new to fossil hunting and barely even have a beginner's knowledge at this point. I found this when I was sifting in some gravel on the shore of the Peace River in Arcadia, FL. I have been looking online for two days trying to figure it out but to no avail. I can't even find anything similar. I believe it is a claw attached to the limb of whatever creature this came from. My only other thought is tooth attached to a very large root....like I said I don't have enough knowledge at this point to be able to properly deduce, but the part at the end definitely looks to be a claw or tooth in my extremely limited opinion. I imagine, since I couldn't find anything similar in all my searches of Peace River teeth and claws, that it is probably just a modern find. I figured it was worth a shot. It's definitely interesting looking to a beginner like myself. :-) Thank you in advance for your help!

    Possible tooth?

Found this in a river a few years ago, and liked to believe it is a tooth. However unsure of true identification, and its very possible its just a stone. The base however looks similar to how a tooth does below the gum line, with pronounced difference in textures, which has led meto belive it maybe more than a rock. Please help. I can supply better images if needed.

    Unknown fossil found at beach

Found this while walking along. Approximately 1 metre long, one of the rocks used to stop dune erosion, so unlikely from area. Any ideas? I have more images if needed, of all angles.

    Tooth ID

Could you please help me ID this tooth? Area is Miocene. Tooth is 15/16" long. Thanks.

    More peace River unknowns

I have found a ton of these in the Peace River, each measures about 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch

These are clearly Brachiopods with a penned clue “Filey Brigg “but why, when and how have they come to be at present I do not know.

    Is this a fossil?

Hi folks. Hubby and I went for a walk on the Northumberland coast today to look for the remains of a 10,000 year old submerged forest. We found it (and it's incredible!) but we also picked up this stone and we were wondering if it was a bit of a fossil. I'm sorry it's just a small thing, but we still got a little bit excited when we found it. I'd be really grateful if anyone could help. Thanks in advance.

  17. On 12/5/2016, I was lucky enough to get out and hunt with Gordon C and JeffreyP , in the Lower Devonian area in Montague, NJ. known as Trilobite Ridge. I made many good finds, but did come across an unknown item. (at least to me!) I am unsure of what it is - either a ventral cephalon of a trilobite, or a single valve of a brachiopod. Any assistance/ideas welcome. Lower DevonianPort Jervis/Glenerie FormationsTristates GroupTrilobite RidgeMontague, NJ. Thanks for looking. Regards,

    SantaFe River ID

Hello! I found this while diving the santafe river last week and can't put an ID to it. I do most of my hunting in the peace river and can't say this matches anything I have dug up in the past. May look a little whale toothy but hard to say. Any help or hints would be greatly appreciated!

    Molar Tooth Washed Ashore

This large molar was found by a friend of mine, on a beach on the south east coast of Aldeburgh, England. It's slightly over an 1.5" tall, and the top is roughly 0.75" square. Any ideas what its from? Any ideas about how old it might be? Is it even a fossil, or is it too modern?

    Are these rocks? Coal? Poop?

So I found a few interesting things today all within a short distance of each other... my question is about the two larger "rocks" they don't seem to be rocks but I am not sure what else they would be? They are very soft..the one maybe looks like coal? Also wondering what type of coral I have! And what the white/brown "rock" is? And another couple of things maybe some can ID ?? Thanks Specimen 1 Specimen 2

    Bone ID

Any thoughts on this bone? What part of the animal is it from and what animal? I found it years ago in England at Walton on the Naze. It is as found, no polishing by me, just nature. Thanks for the help.

    What is this Alabama fossil?

My son found it at Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama. What is it? Any idea of the age, given the location? It sticks out where the rock is broken open in a 3d fashion. My son and I are both curious.

    Unknown Find

I can't remember which beach in VA I found this so no cliff date. It reminded me of a picture I saw of shark cartilage but I could not refind the picture to compare. About 2 /12 - 3" in size. Any thoughts?

    Unknown from the peace river

Hello! I managed to get a free day and explore the peace river for the first time this year. Unfortunately my better spot from last year got scoured to only a thin layer of gravel, so I set out to find a different spot. Spent the better part of the day exploring the river in the canoe so I didn't get to settle into a spot and just dig. found a couple decent teeth, and this unknown... it is on the smaller side, around .5"
