Hi! This shark tooth (?) was found along a Delaware, USA beach. Though I do find great joy in finding fossils/artifacts, I am not a hunter, nor do I have any knowledge of this type of thing. What I know: - Found in Delaware, USA on the sandy shoreline of the beach. - It is about 4cm (~1.5 inches) at the top. - Photos below! Can you tell me: - Who this belonged to? - How old it is? Thank you so very much! front front back

Hello everyone one, this is my first post on here and I was hoping to try and figure out what this mystery bone is. It was found on the coast of North Carolina near the town of Duck on the ocean side on 12/25/23. This is for sure a modern bone and not a fossil. I am led to believe this piece is from a sea turtle shell, though I am not 100% sure. The piece itself is roughly 13 cm across, a little over a cm thick, and about 8 cm tall in the middle point. The piece appears to connect to other bone structures from just about every side except for the points of the "wings". If you all have any suggestions as to what this could be that would really help! Thank you!

Howdy everyone, I am new to this wonderful world of discovery. I am a Master Scuba Diver, so I like finding things underwater. I found this little fellow in a spring here in Florida. I tap tested and it weighs a little heavier then it looks, it is dark in color and it has some indentations that maybe holes. So, can someone tell me what this might be, or guide me in the right direction?

I recently went on a field trip to an area near Peterson Butte, Linn Co., Oregon, USA. Among a great number of various mollusks was this gastropod. According to Hickman, this area was part of the Eugene formation and is from the Oligocene era. The largest specimen is about 4 cm x 2.6 cm. Several other small specimens of around 25-30 mm were also collected. Any ideas? thanks, Steve

These fossils were bought for me at an auction selling scrap cuts. The location and age of these fossils is completely unknown. I believe the big ones are a Knightia species but have no clue for the two small ones. There's also a weird one that might be a clam. All photos are cropped and contrasted except for one of the small ones as it only made it harder to see. Paper is college ruled, each line is 7.1 mm Knightia?: Other two fish: Clam?:

These were covered in a thick coating of lime, I cleaned them up along with all other pieces I post. It looks like a piece an extremity to me. Any possible identification would be great, thanks

Here's what looks like a tooth with a root attached and another found in the same vicinity , I'm not classically trained but my imagination lets me believe it, but I'm wrong a lot. There's two different maybe teeth in photos. Let me know how wrong I'm 😀- 3 replies

Please help identify. I have been trying to find any information on this fossil I found while digging here. its been a long search. I have been told a few thing but have been told here is the place to get things identified. I have only cleaned a few sections because Im afraid of breaking it. it is semi fragile and other sections are very hard.

I am a Rockhound and polisher at heart but occasionally I find Coral and fossils from Lake Erie presumably left over from when it was an ocean. I attached 3 photos of my latest find of what I believe to be coral with a blue nodule remaining. The base which is hard to see in the photo has a blue cast to it. The size of blue piece 1.75" W x 0.65" H x 0.125 thk. It has a sulfur smell to the base and I storing it subdue lighting in water to keep it from graying out like my other piece I have collected. Any comment would be appreciated. Thank you

Trilobites found in the Wheeler Shale, Utah. I think Elrathia? College ruled paper, each line 7.1 mm

Hi, I was recently looking at some small fossils under magnification and think I might have a couple trilobite parts mixed in with a bunch of brachiopods? One fossil appears to be a "cheek" and is about 8mm on it's longest axis, the other appears to be the side of the body and is only about 3mm long. These are from the lower Silurian in Door County, Wisconsin, USA. This area is part of the Niagara Escarpment and trilobite fossils are pretty rare in this area (although I'm sure they were here). I work at a local museum and I'm trying to put together a comprehensive list of confirmed silurian fauna specimens actually found in the county. Thanks in advance for your help! Joe Taylor

Ok yall. So there I was minding my own business looking for arrowheads and something catches my eye. Initially I thought it was a pestle until I got ahold of it. Then I thought maybe that's a big egg for breakfast. So while looking around for pottery and such a noticed something else strange . After I washed it off I could tell it was a skull with tissue surrounding it almost entirely and a sharp claw. I checked around for a bit then left . I'm headed home for the holidays and the skull of the dinosaur is riding shotgun! I've started calling him Jac, like Jack without the k. What do I do now and who do I contact? I'm the only one who knows where it is so that's a plus. On one side of the head you can see teeth. And I have no idea what that horn looking thing is. I found way further down .

Fossil ID…found in Northern Missouri. Lincoln County to be exact.
laurachristine1970 posted a topic in Fossil ID
First and foremost, I’m new to fossil collecting and what an amazing journey it’s been. I live in Lincoln County Missouri near the Cuivre River and have found some amazing fossils. It seems the creek that flows into the Cuivre is CHOCK FULL of “death plate fossils” (sorry if I used the wrong terminology). Being a “newbie” I have many ID’s to request. I will start today with my newest find.- 7 replies
