Trilobites found in the Wheeler Shale, Utah. I think Elrathia? College ruled paper, each line 7.1 mm

Hi, I was recently looking at some small fossils under magnification and think I might have a couple trilobite parts mixed in with a bunch of brachiopods? One fossil appears to be a "cheek" and is about 8mm on it's longest axis, the other appears to be the side of the body and is only about 3mm long. These are from the lower Silurian in Door County, Wisconsin, USA. This area is part of the Niagara Escarpment and trilobite fossils are pretty rare in this area (although I'm sure they were here). I work at a local museum and I'm trying to put together a comprehensive list of confirmed silurian fauna specimens actually found in the county. Thanks in advance for your help! Joe Taylor

Ok yall. So there I was minding my own business looking for arrowheads and something catches my eye. Initially I thought it was a pestle until I got ahold of it. Then I thought maybe that's a big egg for breakfast. So while looking around for pottery and such a noticed something else strange . After I washed it off I could tell it was a skull with tissue surrounding it almost entirely and a sharp claw. I checked around for a bit then left . I'm headed home for the holidays and the skull of the dinosaur is riding shotgun! I've started calling him Jac, like Jack without the k. What do I do now and who do I contact? I'm the only one who knows where it is so that's a plus. On one side of the head you can see teeth. And I have no idea what that horn looking thing is. I found way further down .

Fossil ID…found in Northern Missouri. Lincoln County to be exact.
laurachristine1970 posted a topic in Fossil ID
First and foremost, I’m new to fossil collecting and what an amazing journey it’s been. I live in Lincoln County Missouri near the Cuivre River and have found some amazing fossils. It seems the creek that flows into the Cuivre is CHOCK FULL of “death plate fossils” (sorry if I used the wrong terminology). Being a “newbie” I have many ID’s to request. I will start today with my newest find.- 7 replies

Scale: Approx 11-12cm square in all directions (LxWxH) Location Found: Washington State (supposedly) I believe this to be the lower part of a femur from some kind of dinosaur but for all I know it could be part of a completely different bone and/or from a completely different animal. See note below photos. Note: This and all posts I'll create are from a tub full of unknown, supposedly all dinosaur fossils collected around areas of Washington State which I recently acquired from a collector. However, I don't know for certain when or where they were collected. I am not an expert whatsoever. Hoping the community can help me figure out what they are.

any possibility for IL fossil hunting in the winter? where?
rocks in my pockets posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
hey! brand new to the forum. tagged mazon creek because I think that's the most popular spot in IL but I'm aware it's not open to the public at the moment. does anyone know of spots that are open to the public in the winter? anywhere in IL? otherwise, any connections with landowners have access to fossil beds? nowhere with disputed ownership/right on the border between public and private, not looking to put myself and my friends in an unsafe situation especially during deer season. I would really appreciate some input! don't need anything special, just wanna go poking around in the dirt with my friends. :) -

While out hiking in Maryland I came across an interesting stone. I have very limited knowledge of geology or paleontology but it seemed to me that there were numerous prints on this stone. it looked like an ancient mud puddle where animals, including birds, had walked across in different directions leaving paw prints. The pads, toes and sometimes claw marks are visible. One print resembles a human footprint with four small toes and one large toe. With my limited research this should be from the Mauch Chunk formation or the Pottsville Formation, in which case they should not have preserved mammal footprints. I had only my cell phone so my pics are not great. What do you think, are these simply natural marks from weathering or something else?

Hello all! I am wondering if anyone can let me know if what I found is anything that belongs in this forum (a fossil) and if so, what it may belong to. I found this at a beach in Oahu near Honolulu. Outside of an interest in all things Dino (basic knowledge), I have never hunted for fossils and stumbled upon this in the hopes of finding a good shell or a shark tooth, but really know nothing. So any clarification is appreciated!

I am looking for someone or an expert that could help me identify some fossilized coral outcrops that are on my property near fort stockton texas. These fossilize coral go at least four to five feet under the ground. The coral formations are about four feet under the ground except for the outcrop areas. However there are at least 30 of these outcrop areas over the fifty acres I own. Thanks for any suggestions on what these are or a recommended expert to help me.

I found this in Tennessee in a "rock wall" in a root cellar about 3 days ago. The house was built in the 20s but the cellar wasn't dug until the 60s. If that helps at all. And it sits right beside a creek.
