Hello Everyone, I acquired the fossils years ago through an estate sale. The original owner had poorly packed them in a cardboard box and some pieces were broken. They have been repacked very carefully since I found the damage and repacked them 20+ years ago. I am just taking the time to study them and trying to ID as many as possible. I appreciate and am thankful for any help! The original owner was an amateur archy sometime in the 1920s - 1930s. The only information available was these were found "Out West". The last member of the family was elderly and she had been suffering from Alzheimer's for years. Scant info I realize but it is all I have.

Hi I am new here. I am using the dating of mostly marine shell material to establish rates of tectonic uplift of marine terraces. The age is likely to be < 2 Ka We came across the attached bone which appears to part of a vertebrae. Can anyone identify what creature this is likely to be? A marine mammal? Hello all, I found this in a river near John Day, which is near the John Day Fossil beds. I have zero information as I am a total newbie to all this, but I am very excited! I’ve run it under the water to see it better. It is roughly 4 in/10cm from one end of the white part to the other end of the white part. If you look at the top of the back, there looks to be more of the white just barely showing a ridge. Any help is appreciated!

There have been a couple of small rises lately so i went out hoping to stumble upon something nice. Unfortunately the water did not rise enough to really tumble the gravel but it was still nice weather at least. Here are some pictures of my hunt a couple of weeks ago. As for my hunt a couple of days ago I don't have any pictures because i was skunked for the first time ever. No fossil or artifacts at all. I tried some of the large creeks, the ones that are basically as large as the river itself, and all i could see was dried up mud. I'm not sure if the creeks just have less material in them or if everything is just covered in mud. 1. 2. Mosasaur tail vert im assuming? 3. Not sure if coprolite or not but cool fish bones. 4. Rib of something 5. Fish jaw? 6. Turtle 7. Some cool little bone but have no idea what part or even animal 8.

Hello everyone. This little guy was found in some landscape rocks around a pool in Cocoa Beach Florida on September 1, 2021. Any ideas or information would be appreciated. I can take more/better pictures if needed. My kids and I are just getting into rock hounding and have good luck searching rock islands in parking lots and around buildings. We have found a lot of nice horn corals and Petoskey stones as well as a few cool agates and even a geode. So naturally we searched the pool surround while we were on vacation. This little guy was in with a mix of marble and sea shells. Hopefully you guys can help figure it out or point us in the right direction.

I found this in walnut creek in East Austin, Texas. It is fairly big, it is the size of a 4.5 inch cube. Thanks
