  1. From the album: Ordovician

Anazyga recurvirosta (brachiopods) Upper Ordovician Verulam Formation James Dick Quarry Brechin, Ontario
  2. Hi again! This past summer I purchased a small rock with 4 edrioasteroids on it, and I was hoping to get your help in identifying them. The seller said that the rock is from the Upper Ordovician Verulam Formation in Gamebridge, Ontario, and he/she said that the following 3 species of edrioasteroid are on the rock: Cryptogoleus chapmani Isorophusella incondita Belochthus orthokolus Can anyone tell me the specific identity of each edrioasteroid? Thanks so much for your help! Monica Photo of the whole rock: The two edrioasteroids on the right side of the rock - one is quite big (we'll call it Specimen #1) and the other is quite small (we'll call is Specimen #2): The edrioasteroid in the middle of the rock (we'll call it Specimen #3): The edrioasteroid on the left side of the rock (we'll call is Specimen #4):
  3. From the album: Ordovician

Parvolhallopora sp. (branching bryozoans) Upper Ordovician Verulam Formation James Dick Quarry Brechin, Ontario
  4. Here are my finds from the Verulam fm in Brechin Ontario. I had never been to an active quarry before so it was cool to see some of the machinery in addition to the unending supply of rocks to split. The temperature was amazing for December and we didn't get any rain. The very bottom of the quarry exposes the Bobcaygeon fm but it was flooded this time. @Malcolmt thanks for taking me to your spot! I remember what you said most of these are but will need reminding on a couple... 1. Pleurocystite - sadly missing the stalk and one of the arms but great to find one (Didn't know they existed until Saturday) A few of the plates fell off so I got a better look at the structure underneath before gluing it back together 2. Ceraurus trilobites 3. Isotelus trilobite 4. (forgot the name) partial trilobite Needs some cleaning but I'm afraid to damage it 5. Crinoid calyx (forgot the name) 6. Unknown cephalopod

  23. So these fossils are not from a recent trip but from two prior trips in the last year to the Verulam formation near Brechin, Ont. (middle Ordovician, Katian/Mohawkian stage). I was cleaning and sorting some boxes when I re-found them (most still in their paper wrapping). Loose Brachiopods - clockwise from top: Dalmanella testudinaria, Rafinesquina alternata, Sowerbyella sericea, Rynchotrema increbescens A hash plate with many Dalmanella testudinaria brachs among the debris Unknown Bryozoan but it was big and cool looking so I kept it. Stictoporellina sp. bryozoan The graptolite Diplograptus amplexicaulis A couple of Conularia trentonensis that Kevin @Northern Sharks found and gave me. A nice big, intact mound forming bryozoan that is either Prasopora sp. or Mesotrypa sp. A plate with a few large mound forming bryozoans that are either Prasopora sp. or Mesotrypa sp. Possibly a Sphenothallus sp. specimen? Partial Trilobite A small but nice Flexicalymene sp. specimen A Cruziana specimen that @Northern Sharks spotted and let me extract I think this is a crinoid calyx, possibly an Ectenocrinus?
