Hello I'm new to the group and need some help with revealing what I have been researching for the past 5 years. It would be nice if I could get someone to come and see what I have and guide me in this process of making it known to the geology world. I live in Virginia on the North end of Rockbridge county. The elevation here is right around 1800ft. The closest stream to me is a mile away and flows west to east. My property is a sediment bed from when water flowed east to west over a waterfall. In this sediment bed I have found something new. Please help.

Found this in a dry riverbed downstream from a waterfall and next to an active stream. Near Mt. Baker in Whatcom County, Washington. Other plant fossils were in the area. Think it might be a partial fossil of a large palm frond or leaf, but I have no idea. If anyone can help identify I would appreciate it; it's really stumping me. Let me know if any additional information or pictures are needed. Thanks.

I found this in Twin Falls County, Idaho, near the spot where I found a lot of travertine with wood imprints. It did not look like much at first, but on closer inspection, I saw what looks like a whole bunch of tiny fossils, all grouped together. Any idea what it could be? Pictures are attached, The suspected fossil I’m referring to is located near my index finger. I had to really zoom in to get the picture. Jared

Hi everyone, I have not been on for a while. I’m in the middle of cleaning up my house, going through fossils, and a lot of stuff. Today, I found an old fossil while cleaning my room. However, I forgot what you guys said it was. I can’t find my original post either. So, I am posting again, with the hope that you guys can help me remember exactly what it is. Here are the details: My brother and I found it by a small waterfall in the snake river canyon near Twin Falls Idaho over a year ago. It appears to have a lot of petrified wood as well as what appears to be a root system inside it. I am attaching pictures. I remember one guy saying it was something that was like a sped up version of a fossil caused by a waterfall, but I can’t remember exactly. Can someone help me re-identify this so I can properly label it? Pictures are attached. Jared
