I think this fossil is so cool, but I have no idea what it is and would appreciate your help identifying it. To me it looks like the spine of a creature. Like the few other fossils I have found it was included in a bag of "river rocks" sold at a home center for landscaping purposes. All thoughts are welcome! Ready... Set... Go!!!

My boyfriend works in northern Ontario (Canada) at a limestone rock quarry and found this while chipping a piece of rock. I am not sure if this is even a legitimite fossil and if so what kind it is and would love some feedback!

I recently returned from living in Ecuador, South America, with a fossil that I found while at one of the beaches there (Canoa) and I am looking for some one who might be able to identify what it belongs to/ or came from/ and how old it is. It looks like a toe or maybe the tip of a tail...? I have attached detailed photographs. Thanks so much for the help!

Hi there, I'm new to the fossil forum and I am hoping to learn a lot from all of you! I live in Akaroa, New Zealand. This fossil supposedly comes from the Sahara. Any guesses as to what it was? I was hoping for Pakasuchus kapilimai, but that is not likely

From the album: Interesting stuff
I came across this while examining rock with a zoom scope. I snap this pic from my video camera on the Computer. Very unusual to say the least. If there of you that have an idea I'm all ears. -
Hello My husband brought this fossil back from South Africa. I'm not sure what kind of egg it is, or what would it's value be. It is approx 12 cm long and 7.5 cm wide. Your comments/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

From the album: BONES
Here is a seldom seen bone from a fairly common fossil animal. The bone appeared on The Fossil Forum as a "quiz" to identify its source and function. Here are some of the clues that finally led to an identification: It's a bone . . . IOW, from a vertebrate. It's about five million years old, but similar to bones much older and much younger. It's part of the Palmetto Fauna which is not a marine assemblage. It not from an unfamiliar animal . . . everyone would recognize it. It's not a toe bone (phalanx). It's not a patella. It's not a caudal vertebra. It's not any part of a sternum (including manubrium). The bone is bilaterally symmetrical. It's not a part of a neurocranium. It's not a glyptodont bone. If you would like to know more about this bone, navigate over to the thread: http://www.thefossil...ene-of-florida/ Even better, if you have an example of one of these bones, post your image there.
