Hi folks... Over the summer... speaking of summer, it is a chilly 12 degrees out this morning (minus 10 C) Over the summer, I did squeeze in a few field trips. I explored a new Lance Fm bone bed and found this bone that I cannot identify. I think the two pieces fit together but I have not completed the prep yet on the smaller piece. Here are pix of the t-shaped bone. It is symmetrical, so it comes from the midline of some Cretaceous critter. This view (below) shows that the edge of the cross-piece of the T looks like sutures, so it was connected there to some other bone. I have compared it to turtle shells and hadrosaur skulls...and I get nothing. Can anyone help ID htthis thing? I hope to share some more pix of my summer's finds soon. But I need to finish some prep projects first.

Hi, my name is Nathalie, I'm the owner of the attached item. I have no idea what it is and have been looking for a long time for some ideas on the subject. It was in Tibet at some point, but cannot be originated from that country with certainty, it could be from anywhere really. There is also an XRF (Tibet.xls) of the item attached a friend in my family did in case it helps (sommet-1.jpg). I am a total noob on the fossil field and wondering if any of you has seen anything related so I can start research and understand what it is. Pictures of 2 I found Sunday. I'm located in Missouri, 30 mins south of st. louis. I have a creek that ends in my back yard and I'm at a lower elevation. Using maps from USGS .Gov my property is part St. Peter sandstone, Everton formation middle ordovivian to early ordovician and smith dolomite, Powell dolomite, cotterill dolomite, Jefferson city dolomite early ordovician-ibexian series. I'm still working on learning what that all means lol. I also have 2 different fault, sense of displacement unknown or undefined, certain lines. Not sure if that info is important, but figured extra info is better then not enough. 1st 2 pictures I think they are Crinoids but my Google searches. The big one is about brick size and had alot of stuff going on. The 3rd picture I think looks like it could be a bird or reptile? Either that or the cracks in the rock look like a bird. The last the one side has scales? No clue. If the file is too large I will add more pictures in the comments. Thanks for looking!

Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could identify this or tell me if its something interesting. I was digging a bush out of my yard and hit it with a shovel, sounded much different than a rock so I washed it off. It was found in clay but this soil/ clay mix was brought in by a truck from somewhere after the house was built to level the backyard. I thought it was a very unusual piece to be found in the yard. Any ideas? Let me know if any other pictures would help. Thanks Chuck

Hi all. Newbie Jeff here. I’m a collector of sorts and come across all sorts of odd items on a regular basis. I recently came across something that was immediately suspect to me. It may just be a rock but I’ll lay out the scenario of how I got it and then you can check out the pics and maybe someone out there can point me in the right direction. I got a literal truckload of home decor, knock knacks etc for free. Ended up being 11 large storage bins full of all sorts of south/Central American folk and native art, various antiques, housewares etc. I can tell you nothing I’ve found in this lot is cheap. I opened a lidded yankee candle that was a bit heavier than it should have been and found this little piece of curiosity wrapped nicely and tucked inside it. I won’t be heartbroken if it isn’t legit, but there’s something unique about it and now I need to know. thanks in advance Jeffi
