  1. I've been fishing along Cedar Creek for years, and I know there are some good limestone formations along the creek. Anyone in the area know of some good spots to look for fossils? There's got to be some spots that trilobites can be found.
  2. Buzz

    Coral or sponge?

I thought at first that this is a sponge fossil, but is it actual a coral fossil? Size is about 4" x 4" x 4"
  3. What does someone do when they dig up hundreds of thousands of fossils? We are digging our basement in southwest Wisconsin. At 4' it became nothing but fossils. A mixture of 3-8" concrete slab material and a strange dirt-like substance that seems to be made entirely of crushed shells? And in that dirt, we find small fossils not entombed in the rock. But in every single stone there is some type of fossil. I know nothing of fossils. I will submit pics of the site so you can see how many piles of fossils there are a long with some close-ups of individual fossils. Thanks for any advice. I'd hate to use them as filll around the basement...but ....???

    Underwater mushroom creature

This was found in southwest Wisconsin. All the other creatures I'm finding are sea creatures. I know nothing about fossils but something tells me this isn't a mushroom lol.

    Help identify Wisconsin fossil

I found this interesting piece the other day and am looking for help determining what it is. To me it looks like a frog in the mouth of a snake. I appreciate any and all input on this. Thank you
