Merry Xmas everyone!!! To celebrate this long-awaited holiday, how about we showcase some fossils linked to it? It can be anything: a fossil that you got for Xmas, found on Xmas day, or a fossil that reminds you of something "Xmassy". Explain why! I'll start off: Orthosphinctes desmoides (?) Gräfenberg, Germany Grafenburg Formation, Kimmeridgian, Jurassic I got this gorgeous double-ammonite piece from my parents for Xmas yesterday! Also, although you can't see it very well on the picture, the ammonites have a nice dark green color

My mum suprised me by ordering some beautiful carved Whitby Jet. She didnt unwrap it to check it when it came and just put it straight under the tree. So this morning i unrapped it to find the head had fallen off in postage! Survived from 1800s but couldnt survive the english postal service!
