  1. Hello from Germany! I just bought a spinosaurus tooth for my niece (she is a biiig dinosaur fan) online and just wanted to ask you about your opinion. The seller told me before buying that this tooth is glued and repaired. I knew it before and that is no problem to me. I just wanted to make sure that the tooth is real. It is not my target to get one that is NOT repaired. What are your thoughts about this tooth? Is it real? Is it in a good condition? Do you have some information for me? Would be really grateful to get some of your opinions. I have 30 days to send the tooth back in case all of you say that it is a fake. Thanks a million in advance! Best regards André
  2. Hello, I'm new to this forum. In the last months I have been involved in a project regarding North Africa spinosaurids.Because of the reduced data I have, I want to know if anyone could share photos of their specimens. Most of the specimens I need are presacral vertebrae and posterior cranial bones(including,if possible,a braincase). Also, any information in favour of a second morphotype could be really helpful;even though I have already treated this point, I want different opinions on this topic. Thanks a lot in advance to anyone.
  3. I just got a spinosaurus tooth by my girlfriends dad for christmas and i have a few Questions: 1. Is it real or how much of it is fixed up with some kind of matrix? 2. What is that bright white part glimpsing between the sand? 3. Should i try to free the tooth from the dark/sandy part, to reveal his real beauty? 4. If yes, how? Thank you for your time!
  4. Spinosaurus?

I’ve had this a few years labeled as spinosaurus. However it looks different that 99% of spinosaurus I’ve seen so just wanted to check it’s about an inch long. Merry Christmas everyone
  5. Mystery Claw

Good everyone. So I was fortunate enough to be able to buy some specimens from an old collection. Unfortunately the husband had passed away and the misses was left his collection from 30+ years. This claw had been tagged as a Spinosaurus claw which I’m pretty confident it is not. So I’m hoping you guys may have some input. I cannot tell you anything about location because no one other than him would know. So I understand that the ID will not be 100% and that’s fine. It definitely has had some repair work done to it. So thank you in advance for any input. Sincerely, J
  6. Croc tooth?

I was given this “spinosaurus tooth” a long time ago but when I looked at it again I thought it looked more like a croc tooth. It’s from Morocco and is about 4 cm. Is there anyway to assign a genus to it? I heard it’s hard to identify Moroccan teeth that far
  7. Here is some of my first 6 months of fossil collection ! ( some still in transit oversea ...) First of all I really enjoy spending time in this forum and I feel very lucky to be member of this forum ! some of my collection was ID by you guys Soooo...LET get started ! KEM KEM the mystery - My First Dinosaur fossil .... Abelisauridae tooth ! MY BEST theropod tooth in my collection ! My Mystery vertebra from Kem kem ... possible Theropod vertebra Sauropod tooth << Rebbachisaurus tooth from kem kem Another Abelisauridae tooth < I personally love the color of enamel > Little Carcharodontosauridae tooth from kem kem < quite nice enamel and I love that feeding damage on the tip !!>
  8. I'm thinking of buying these Spinosaurid teeth. I can't quite tell if there's restorations on the teeth. Can someone here advise me whether they may have been restored or not? They have been glued im quite certain,
  9. This is my first time in this forum, I’m really enjoy all your post. I have seen this spino claw and I don’t know if is real, can you help me with this? Really thank you
  10. Hi, I hope the pictures are adequate for a possible identification. This is being sold as a theropod limb bone from the Kem Kem. The seller states that it arrived broken and it was hollow like a theropod bone (but filled with sand and has had a few glued repairs). It is 23.5cm in length and I am wondering if it does look like a limb bone and if it might be a Spinosaurid bone since it reminds me a bit of a Spinosaur phalanx (although the seller lists it as an unidentified dinosaur). Thank you!
  11. First time poster to this forum, though have enjoyed reading through all the many topics. I received this 3” spino tooth as a gift and the more I read all of the other similar questions regarding real or fake, how good is it, etc., I got curious about mine. Paperwork says it’s from the Kem Kem beds, and my uneducated eye thought it seems to be in good shape, without too much restoration, but I’m curious to see what all the experts have to say. Your thoughts would be much appreciated!
  12. A brief and interesting blog by Scott Hartman about the shape of the sail with Spinosaurus. https://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/the-road-to-spinosaurus-ii-known-unknowns11252020
  13. Real T.Rex tooth?

What do you think? This tooth is 3 inches long. It was found in private land in Wyoming, Hell Creek Formation
  14. I see that the genus Sigilmassasaurus have been deleted from many paleontology lists about the Kem Kem group fauna. Is Sigilmassasaurus a species of the genus Spinosaurus? Sigilmassasaurus and Spinosaurus aegyptiacus is the same species?
  15. Cervical vertebra Morocco

Hi everyone, I bought this fossil, it was labelled as a possible cervical vertebra section and comes from Morocco. Has anyone got any idea what animal it may have come from? Is it part of a vertebra? Hope you can shed some light on it. Thanks.
  16. Spino claw with X-ray? Pure composite? Any other thoughts?
  17. Kem kem id part iv

The first one is somthing I cant assign to a family, the closest is this example of therizinosaurid
  18. hi i try to reconstruct a spinosaurus skeleton, i miss some bones of course, lot of bones ares in privates collection, and it s difficult to access them. my idea is : if you have in your collection some cervicals vertebrae or dorsals , the size is not a problem, i look for 3D models of them. i look also for the 3D models bones of the front limbs. thanks for help in this project.
  19. Im looking to purchase this spinosaurus tooth but I have heard many stories of fakes so I wanna ask for your opinions
  20. Spinosaurus marrocanus tooth (autenthicity)

Hello to everyone! I recently bought a Spinosaurus marrocanus tooth, from Taouz (Morocco). I bought it from a Spanish fossil dealer. I wanted to know if you could give me your opinion about its possible authenticity from the photos attached. Thank you very much!
  21. This is a large Spinosaur tooth. It has obvious repairs, and some restoration horizontally along the middle of the tooth. However, I'm wondering if it looks composite. The claim is that it isn't composite, but I'm suspicious.
  22. Just bought - all spinosaurus?

From morocco They look like spinosaurus to me but let me know. Any info is greatly appreciated as always.
  23. Indeed, more Spinosaurus teeth from me. I appreciate the help that many of you have offered. It's much easier to spot potential issues with more experienced eyes and angles I hadn't considered. I have two Spinosaurus teeth here, both over 4". They look kosher to me barring some minor matrix fill on cracks. Confirmation would be lovely! Thank you, Bellamy First: Second:
  24. I have here a 5" Spinosaurus tooth. The claim is that it has some repair to it using glue, but that it's all one tooth as opposed to a composite. If that were the case, I would be fine with it. However, I have my suspicions that it's a composite. I'd appreciate some more eyes on this!
  25. Spinosaurus bone?

I’m gambling that this is a spinosaur bone, as it is supposed to be, but I really don’t know. Can anyone ID what this bone is, and if it’s spinosaurus or not? It’s apparently from Kem Kem. Thanks so much for any, and all help:)
