Found another suspected Cretaceous mammal tooth from the Aguja Fm. I've made my way to the fine matrix. This tooth is about 1 mm in length; I have no idea how I managed to find it. I unfortunately broke part of the root putting it back in the gem case I chose to store it in (after taking the pics). @jpc, what about this one? Feeling slightly more confident...

Hey y'all, found what I think may be a Cretaceous mammal incisor. I was hoping to find some mammal teeth when I got the Aguja matrix, but since I haven't found any before, need more experienced eyes. Could very well be a piece of something else. It's about 5mm in length. Thanks!

Fresh out of the Aguja, found this crocodilian tooth. I know Deinosuchus is present in the formation; I thought it could be based on the strong striations and stoutness? Or can it only be called Eusuchia? It's about 5 mm in length: Thanks!

Hi all! The Aguja Formation matrix that I ordered from PaleoTex arrived on June 12th, but I decided to wait until school ended before I began the process of searching it. Well, school ended yesterday so I have begun the process today! My 5 pounds of matrix are currently soaking in a solution of baking soda and water (because the matrix arrived "unwashed"), but while stirring up the squishy contents with my hand, I found the following 3 items that I'd like your input on. Item #1: Could this be a ceratopsian spitter tooth??? @Troodon More to follow...

Hi there! This rock was found in the Aguja Formation. Wondering if it’s a meteorite, coprolite, or gastrolith? I honestly think it’s a meteorite, but the fact that it’s not magnetic throws me a bit. I don’t know a lot about meteorites though, so would appreciate any knowledge and opinions! Thanks very much, Lauren

I should preface this by saying interesting to me. I am also testing out my scientific language. I’ve been studying lol It is from the Aguja Formation and it looks most like the distal? end of a Theropod toe bone. I think phalanx is the right choice of word to describe what this. This must have come from a fairly large animal. It is 2” long but not complete. It is basically split in half and is 1.25” at its widest. I have a few complete small theropod phalanx bones and this does look similar but much bigger. I question myself though because I would expect this to appear to

Hey everyone, I recently came across these two teeth online. They're both pretty worn down and might no longer possess the features necessary for a more detailed ID, but I'd appreciate your help in confirming that these are actually Hadrosaurid teeth. [images attached are the seller's] Tooth 1 comes from the Judith River Formation of Montana; measuring roughly 9mm [not specified in which direction; I assume depth]. Tooth 2 comes from parts of the Aguja Formation in Western Texas; measuring approximately 13x11mm [not specified along

A new publication on the lower member of the Aguja formation is presented in this paper. Indeterminate tyrannosaurid, dromaeosaurid, ceratopsid, and nodosaurid dinosaurs are represented as well as new genus and species of hadrosaur, which does not appear to be described in this paper but Im only reading the abstract https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0195667118304361 Stratigraphy and vertebrate fauna of the lower shale member of the Aguja Formation (lower Campanian) in West Texas Thomas M.Lehman, Steven L.Wick, Alyson A.Brink, Thomas A.Shiller

Kritosaurus Real or not from Aguja Fm Texas
TyBoy posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I'm not very familar with Kritosaurus but all of a sudden lots of offerings appear on websites and auctions, goodies from Tucson ? I was interested in a tooth so I started fo do some research to validate their claims. Again trust no ID you see from diggers, sellers and collectors, how many times has that been said yet collectors seem to ignore it.. I also do know that other than the skull elements hardosaur material is very hard to ID to a specific genus and even more so to a speices What is being offered are Kritosaurus bones and teeth like the ones in the photos. Most were i- 13 replies

The Aguja micro vertebrate assembladge is quite diverse. I've attached a few of my finds some identified some misidentified , some unknown . Lots still to identify and photograph so I will keep adding to this topic. Apologize for the quality of photos need to invest in a better digital scope to obtain crisper photos of these tiny specimens. Material is Campanian in age from Texas Dinosaurian Actinopterygii Additional Teeth Amiid Fish Tooth Below, Lepisosteid Tooth To

I just bought a large, fairly well preserved vertebra from a rock shop in Tucson. It was found in the Aguja Formation in Texas, a formation that isn’t especially well researched. My diagnosis is that the vert is most likely theropod, and the only theropod that large that is in the area and comes to mind for me is the Acrocanthosaurus. This diagnosis is leaving me skeptical. Acro bones are pretty rare to my knowledge (there are only 5 articulated specimens discovered as of now), and I don’t see any documentation of them being found in Aguja, though as I said before it is not well researched.
